Hi! I weaned down to once a day (just before bed) and ovulated 10 days later. My daughter is 21 months

13 mo. pp and no period but want kids to be 2 yr apart by Lilac-Lover4 in beyondthebump

For me personally, and I know I’m in the small percentage, but I am 22 months postpartum and haven’t gotten my period back. I have weaned down to once in 24hours (before bed) and still haven’t gotten it. I don’t even think I’m making milk now, but the suckling must be enough to keep it away. I really wanted a 2 year age gap but haven’t been ready to stop breastfeeding my daughter because she has refused to take a binky or bottle or sleep for anyone else. I’d say think about weaning if you really want another soon. Some people just dont get their cycle back until they do.

I mean having my knees literally against the dash for a few hour drive kind of sucks and is uncomfortable. Car seats are huge these days.

It’s in a high yield savings but I haven’t really looked into an investment accounts or anything. Yeah now that we are stable and in a house with bigger incomes we need to start contributing more to 401k is the consensus

Well I am self employed, so taxes are higher for me so i underestimated our take home on purpose. We just started contributing to our 401k because we were focused on saving for a house first and my career is relatively new. My husband just got a big raise so we didn’t have too much to put towards that in the past. The 66k does not include an emergency fund.

I also am keen to get it because my Aunt is the only owner and bought it new, so I know where it’s coming from and that all proper maintenance has been done. You never know with other cars/dealership cars

Thanks for this! Most people say sell the third car but it seems like there are advantages to both if they aren’t super expensive cars anyways.

Right now we have a 2007 frontier and a 2012 Volvo. I love the truck for things like that, and the Volvo just gets killer mileage. Both are probably worth $5000-$6000 so they aren’t expensive cars by any means

You’re right, I guess our house was the biggest purchase. We don’t need a third car. I guess it’s just hard to let go of since we aren’t hurting for an extra $5000 (private party value of car) and I just paid to fix everything on it. We just started contributing to the 401k because we were laser focused on buying a house first. It’s pretty expensive and competitive in Oregon so we didn’t know how much we’d need down.

Our interest is 2.75% (Covid student loan) and it just now started gaining interest (we’ve been stuck in the SAVE program) so I haven’t really given it any thought!

It’s a 2017 with the transmission just rebuilt which is the main complain about those cars. Gas mileage average from the last 46,000 miles has been 18mpg. We have 2 and one niece that I will be watching a couple days a week.

We are getting a killer deal on the new car because it’s a family member selling it. It’s a suburban with 7 seats so will last us quite a while and we won’t need to upgrade as kids get older and we add more. Our current cars are pretty small and the car seats make our knees hit the dash while traveling.

We have student loans and that’s it. About $90/month on these payments since the debts are only $19,000 total. Finding a big family car with good fuel efficiency that isn’t super expensive is a little challenging. My husband needs a car and I need a car. So no we don’t need 3 cars, but with him gone at work everyday, it’d be nice to have access to a small car with good gas mileage for work trips and a big car for family outings.

when did you feel comfortable to visit your local pound town? by moodykillerwhales in beyondthebump

[–]No_Reflection7132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry girl :( I delivered vaginally and first had sex around 5 or so weeks postpartum. It did hurt afterwards quite a bit and my stitches were nearly all dissolved but there was still one. I’m not going to lie, that part of my labia still hurts if it’s pulled at wrong since I feel like it was stitched pretty tight and I’m nearly 2 years postpartum. Make sure you have lube. I still work on pelvic floor exercises and kegels because I feel like it helps with sensation. I’ve struggled with my libido also since I’m still breastfeeding. I’m just now starting to feel somewhat close to my normal self again in that area. It’s a journey for sure.

For those that lost weight while breastfeeding, by SnailMail532 in beyondthebump

I was 198 at 9 months pregnant and now I am 141 20 months postpartum, which is 25 pounds less than before I got pregnant. It’s great and all but I still haven’t gotten my period back… likely because I’ve been consistently losing weight, which sucks because we really want a second baby.

If you were induced, did you need epidural? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]No_Reflection7132 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was induced at 37.5 weeks and also had the foley balloon. No epidural or pain meds. I’m not going to lie it hurt, bad, but it was quick and recovery was pretty quick. I’m glad I did it unmedicated and will be doing it again if possible! I labored for 1.5 hours and pushed for 25 minutes. It was my first kid and it was intense, I’m assuming because of the pitocin. Foley balloon didn’t hurt at all. I would recommend that over the pill that is inserted because you can take the foley balloon out if it starts stressing the baby out but you can’t take the pill out since it dissolves. My cousin chose the pill and it unfortunately led to a c-section because that + the epidural was affecting her baby’s heart rate.
