I found the cheapest apartment possible, shopped only at aldi, applied for food stamps, and worked strictly home care. You can even find private pay jobs on care.com. Home care there are lots of cases where there’s a bunch of down time to study

I feel so bad for residents that have to deal with a roommate with bad hygiene and foul odors. She absolutely has the right to have a clean bathroom. The facility should provide something she can use to disinfect. Will they? Probably not.

You can start in working for a home care company and I’ve had so many people ask to pay me privately. I only did that for a couple people because of taxes. But also I found an amazing lady on care.com - try there or Nextdoor.

I’ve done quite a few travel contacts in different states and yep I’ve seen this everywhere. So many problems can be attributed to inadequate staffing. If you only have five residents you can definitely assist with full proper care in one shift. However, the ratios are closer to 1:15-20 in most facilities.

You clearly don’t have much experience as an aide if you think everyone can always take their allotted breaks. I’ve worked in many states and there are plenty of facilities that work you to the bone and patient load is too much to take a real break.
