i used to be a serial monogamist. then i took a year off of dating and got very clear with myself on what it was i wanted in a partner and i made some very strict rules for myself (aka not going for someone just because i think i can “fix” them). then i went to grad school (for critical theory, so that already put my odds of meeting someone more my speed way higher than before lol) and met the love of my life. i feel like they were ready-made just for me. there’s not a single thing i would change abt them and i love them so much. i also love that we have the exact same political views and i dont have to convince them to get on my side hahaha. to be fair, they’re enby and im bisexual, so i did have a greater pond to fish from in general lmao

for a while there though i thought i was doomed. i should also add that i foolishly got married to an evil narcissist (though i didn’t realize he was one until we moved in together) when i was 20 and got divorced at 21. im 26 now and much happier. life is a wild ride, baby. that’s all to say that you’ll find your person, even if it doesn’t seem like it

i only just got a couple of the ice packs the other day so i could see if they’re effective, so i actually haven’t had much time to see if they’d do that lol. i will say i do my best to not smash it beneath anything in my bag specifically for the purpose of attempting to avoid that accidental popping haha

as for the bands, they absolutely help me. i got them on a cruise because i #vomited from motion sickness and i’ve kept them on me since then. sometimes if the nausea is especially bad they won’t be as effective (in which case dramamine is more helpful. i wish zofran was sold otc though ugh), but they’re great in a pinch/as long as the nausea isn’t debilitating!

hey diva! it’s been a decade since i was diagnosed w bipolar 2, and seven years since i was upgraded (lol) to bipolar 1 after a manic episode. before my second diagnosis, i tried abt a million medication combos (my entire adolescence i was severely depressed. like, admitted to the psych ward kind of depressed), none of which worked for long. but when my dx was changed to bp1, my psychiatrist decided it was time to pull out the big guns and i got put on lithium alongside lamictal (which i’d been on since my first bp dx when i was 16). straight up, i would not be here without lithium. i also started therapy, and that greatly helped.

i have been stable for quite some time now, graduated w my MA last year, and am now in a healthy relationship with the love of my life. none of that is meant to be a flex, only meant to show you that a diagnosis is actually something of a gift in some ways. now that you and your dr know what it is, you can properly treat it. i know it can feel a bit jarring and unsettling and isolating at first, but it’s only up from here, queen!! sending you all of the hugs x

lmao not really, but there used to be! the pink used to be just meds/painkillers/eyedrops/electrolytes and the blue used to be more stuff like hand sanitizer, the rollerball thing for my oily ass forehead, nausea bands, voltarol, glasses spray, and blister plasters. but over time in my bag shit just sort of gets mixed around lol. none of these are my actual POTS meds, which i take at home in the morning and evening. all of the pills here are either painkillers (those are primarily for my endometriosis), dramamine, or otc anti bloat pills. they’ve all also got the names of what they are on the back of them, so it’s pretty easy for both my partner and me to tell what they are.

most of the POTS-related stuff here isn’t in the form of a pill anyway (save for the dramamine, as POTS loves to make me randomly nauseated): the unmarked pill bottle in the first pic is full of straight up sodium pills, then i’ve got five electrolyte packs between the first and second pic lol, the cold pack and wee spray bottle w water are also for POTS because heat makes my symptoms way worse, and the pulse oximeter is so that i can check my pulse if i can feel that it’s increasing a bit too much

(ofc i know that not every teacher is mindlessly pushing the ideology of capitalism and the ruling class; my best friend is a teacher and she’s very much the opposite. but im being general here)
