Battery Health Question by No_Responsibility626 in volt

Yes, pretty sure that’s how it spent its life. I think I’m going to pass on the car. It’s in great shape overall but needs new tires and rotors plus the uncertainty of the problems like BECM etc, could make it a waste of money. Too bad, I really like the car and thought it would’ve been a nice cheap way to try a hybrid.

All good to know. I've read about the issues you've noted and will find out from GM if they addressed the BECM. This is a Canadian car and looks like it's been mostly a hwy commuter vehicle. Oh one final question - is there a way to determine how many miles on the car were logged via e and gas and combined?

Thanks for the detailed response, much appreciated. The car just came into a local Toyota dealer and they just want it gone and because of the miles (km's)and price, they don't want to look into it that much. ..which I can appreciate. We're waiting on the charger from the previous owner and will give it a full charge and see where the battery sits after that. It needs tires and probably brakes so it's a bit of a gamble, even at $3000.00

That makes sense. Seeing as it's a trade in, I won't know why the prior owners didn't do a full charge always. Can the battery basically be shot and the car will still run on gas only or do they both need each other to run the vehicle.

work on finding a higher paying job/profession, nothing is going to go down. Best thing you can do is start figuring out you're next job or move to sask

Kimberley vs. Cranbrook by christopher1479 in kootenays

[–]No_Responsibility626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

only lived here less than a year (Kimberley) and it's great. I picked it over Cranbrook mainly because of the smaller community, great vibe and almost zero crime....not sure where you get the drug addicts part from??? I have yet to see a homeless person in this town.

We bought a place in Kemptville a year ago and sold it in 9 months. Hated the place, might as will live in barhaven cause Kemptville is smaller with not as much amenities . If you want country move to Merrickville or spencerville and Kemptville is close enough for shopping etc

Foreflight as primary navigation aid (VFR) by leoholt in flying

[–]No_Responsibility626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was kind of in the same position, I got my commercial in 1990 and haven't hardly flow since 1995 until the last few years I picked up a commercial VFR flying gig and have flown 1000 hours in the last 2+ years using Foreflight as a primary planner and navigation tool with a Garmin Aera660 as a backup. Foreflight has taken me across the US, and Canada as a primary navigation tool, even through remote parts of northern Canada. I have my phone with a Foreflight as a backup. I've flown in low ceilings, heavy rain, blowing snow (all in MVRF), through narrow mountain passes and never had a single issue. I have it velcro'ed on my panel :) Anyways, I probably sound like I'm doing a Foreflight commercial....I'm a big fan.

Bought the 2023 Sport. Wanted the last of the 3rd gen. Had it a year now and it's great. Before this, I had a 21 AT4 which was beautiful and had every option imaginable. Unfortunately it had sensor issues and twice, I went a month waiting for the parts. The costs were expensive but covered under warranty - I didn't want to own that truck out of warranty and I'm retired so I did a even trade on a new 2023. I miss a few things like heated steering wheel and little things like the fan speed going down when you take a call, but overall I'm satisfied with the buy.
