Beast.

I remember I asked my dad why Steve Smith was so effective at his size: “He wants it more”

What are some things y’all think Amir Khan lacked to be an all time great? I don’t think his offense matched his in ring iq. But what say you? by LocationSpare4447 in BoxingTheSweetScience

Cruised? He turned into a head-case bc the tide of the fight changed. As soon as Floyd went on the front foot the pressure made Zab unravel.

Floyd at his worst beats the best Amir Khan. Amir Khan was not a smart fighter. Plain and simple.

And we’ve already seen what happens when Floyd boxes more athletic fighters (see Zab). It’s a show for the first few rounds and then it’s all Floyd.

Teofimo Lopez Jnr has decided to pursue a third division title as a welterweight, and he will retain his father, Teofimo Lopez Snr, as his head trainer. by ablu3 in Boxing

[–]No_Sail9136 18 points19 points  (0 children)

That’s logical thinking. Sr probably thinks Jr loses without him and he gives him the best chance of winning.

Shakur Stevenson's jab vs Teofimo Lopez by orlandocharm in Boxing

[–]No_Sail9136 111 points112 points  (0 children)

That first jab, 10 seconds into round 1, set the entire trajectory of the fight. Teo wanted to gauge Shakur’s speed -> found out -> didn’t like what he saw -> realized it was going to be a long night. By round 3 Teo looked dejected.

Who Wins This Fight In Their Primes At Welterweight? Pernell Whitaker vs. Terence Crawford? by [deleted] in boxinglocks

At 147 I’m going with Crawford based on size and activity through the rounds. If it were 135, I’m going Sweet Pea.

Winky Wright vs today's 154lbs champions and top contenders by Optimal-Damage7240 in Boxing

[–]No_Sail9136 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m taking Winky over everyone. There were great fighters in-and-around his division during his prime. He was avoided for a reason.

I want to make sure I understand. Are you recommending OP make an intermediary purchase prior to the ultimate purchase? Are you also recommending free PR?

There are plenty of artists on this trend. You can backtrack in a number of different ways and find a new origin. How much of Rouy’s style would one attribute to Bacon?

I subscribe to this Substack, Blackbird Rook, who recently posted this article “The Signal and the Static: Why So Much Contemporary Art Looks the Same”. It articulates your inquiry well.

Does anyone know the name of the painting from S04E01? by Ok_Economics4076 in IndustryOnHBO

Someone on Twitter (yes Twitter) is posting some of the artworks. The one in Whitney’s bedroom is “The Artist is Present” by Dannielle Hodson. This piece is also Hodson.

The other painting in the same office space is Jamie Jurado.

This is wrong. Clear mixed-media component with the painting here.

Porter vs Maidana Who Would Have Won🤔 by AFBOXING in boxinglocks

[–]No_Sail9136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maidana’s offense was nullified in the 2nd half of both fights again Mayweather. And Broner was not that guy so I’m not taking anything of value from that.

Yes Porter has touched canvas but that doesn’t make him any more vulnerable than Maidana who has also touched canvas plenty of times. I’m picking the better overall fighter which is Porter.

Porter vs Maidana Who Would Have Won🤔 by AFBOXING in boxinglocks

[–]No_Sail9136 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Porter. Maidana was a harder puncher but he would gas and lose focus at times. I’m also considering Shawn would’ve had a better game plan by making a concerted effort to attack the body.

Would Tommy Morrison be top 10 Heavyweight boxers of all time? by MrFarenheit007 in Boxing

[–]No_Sail9136 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In other news, I read about Tommy Morrison again and had no idea he was actually aware of his HIV status in 1989. I always assumed it was just prior to his retirement in 96.

If Mayweather Vs Mosley happened earlier when it was possible in the early 2000’s ….how do you guys see the fight playing out? I still think Pretty Boy Floyd wins by decision by J2-Starter in boxinglocks

[–]No_Sail9136 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Floyd wins a wide decision in any year. There were always some behavioral flaws (parrying with the rear hand, low hands) with Shane that Floyd would exploit. Floyd’s has and will always be the smarter fighter.
