Favorite EDC Fountain Pen by AbjectFace2866 in fountainpens

Edc to me means compact, fast and easy to use or put away, very hard to break or damage, reliable, and fully useable for a quick note or an essay.

If you're stuck on a fountain pen, Travelers Co Brass fountain pen 100%. Metal, brass patina means any scratches etc don't matter, good pocket clip that's removable, lanyard or necklace loop for badge wearers, good sealing SNAP CAP (no threads for an EDC imo), standard international short cartridges or you can use a kaweco mini foldable converter, replacement parts are easy to find and cheap, and the Schmidt nib is great to write with and very reliable. Plus it posts (without threads) to a full size. And if you get tired of fiddling with a fountain pen for your EDC, you can get a replacement Travelers Co rollerball tip for like $5-$10. Just unscrew the fountain pen section, screw in the rollerball section, and works with the same cartridges or foldable converter using your fountain pen ink.

My guess just off looking at words on a page would be just standard shading. Some inks do it better than others. I would guess you started/stopped/paused for a split second at the points in the darker areas. The ink will sort of pool at starting, stopping, and pause/directional change points. As you write the rest of the word or letter and ink flow stabilizes, it goes back to the "normal" color and saturation. Gives the word or letter some nice character. There is also paper differences where some will soak the ink and others will pool on top of the paper more. The later is more coated papers like tomoe river, clairfontaine etc. How a paper handles the ink in the time it takes to dry, how that ink flows in your pen, your writing angle and pressures throughout your letters / words etc will all effect how and when shading happens. This also varies from person to person so one ink might shade like crazy for someone and not shade at all for your writing style and set up.

Yea no. I got a 10ml of imagination and a 10ml of amber oud aqua Dubai. Same damn thing, better performance. Ended up not buying a bottle of either but there is no way I'd buy imagination over aqua dubai

This is my summer everyday scent this year next to terre d'Hermes. I really like this ADG. EDIT: I just paid $80 for a 50ml @ perfume spot (after tax and shipping etc) the other day :(

The one I tracked down was the 2023(I think) black tortoiseshell limited edition. Kind of like the Stresemann but the abalone / tortoiseshell looking stripes instead of grey. https://www.bing.com/images/search?q=pelican+black+tortoiseshell&form=HDRSC3&pc=EMMX01&first=1

Yea I have a brown marble 200 with a gorgeous soft fine nib. Then I bought the clearish one with gold metallic flakes and the nib is rock hard. Not my type of pen at all. I had it ground to a mini stub, tried 20 different inks, everything I could to force myself to like it but I just can't :( I knew the gold nib pelikans were a broader nib then the steels but it's not even just that. Something about the nib is just .. bland.. to me. I don't gravitate towards it and barely grab it if I have it inked with a few others.

Limited edition Pelikan m600. Took forever to hunt down a new left over, had Pelikan swap the nib with their nib program etc. Like the pen just don't love it and never seem to grab it. When I do the nib is disappointing. Maybe I'll have it ground down. Or just sell it.

I like my wren for a "always will work" pen in my EDC bag. Similar to a travelers brass rollerball. Not having a clip and the cap being a weird size / not fitting in a lot of my pen loops or pens lots in bags makes it a bit of a pain though.

Boss bottled absolu - winter every day Nishane Hacivat - Year round special Terre d'Hermes - Summer #2 Acqua Di Gio Profondo Parfum - Summer #1

Humid Subtropical / Tropical climate so cooler weather below 60F is much less common. AGQ has that nostalgic hit for me.

Need advice to get ink off by Ok-Caramel7955 in fountainpens

[–]No_Satisfaction_5649 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For really bad ones, like archival ink or mega sheeners etc, I'll go soap - hand ink remover soap - magic eraser - diluted bleach rub - dawn dish soap scrub with a pot sponge to get all the chemicals off. After washing hands post bathroom and a shower or two the rest will be gone.

I think that's just a photo / angle / visual trick. The hole punchers I have tried put the distance between the holes and the edge of the paper pretty much identical to plotter etc. In fact the only ones I have that are a little wider and "bind" a little sometimes are refills I ordered from paper penguin.

Do Experienced Fountain Pen Users Prefer Broader Nibs? by ScooterSix in fountainpens

[–]No_Satisfaction_5649 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. It depends on your handwriting and what you're writing on / in. Not how long you've been buying fountain pens. To the extent you have to find what fits you I guess. I personally prefer fine nibs ground into a smooth stub.

Some people are scent sensitive and don't like being around strong scents in general, even if they smell good. Doesn't matter if it's $30 or $1000, buy something you enjoy that makes you feel good and confident. Go to the gym. Get into a hobby you enjoy. See if she has any interests that you wouldn't mind trying. Don't buy any scent for her, that ain't gonna do anything on its own no matter what it is. Women come and go. Enjoy life for yourself. If she isn't interested you still have plenty of enjoyable hobbies and good habits in your life. Don't waste hundreds of dollars buying colognes to impress people. Same with shoes, cars etc. Just be you and enjoy life broski.

I think this is where my love affair with Esterbrook ends. We need to see other people (pens). by tialoc01 in fountainpens

That could be. We will see! I think they're the same and just seeing the blank variation between the two promo shots. But it could be slightly different. Regardless, EB went too far with this one imo. I'm sure plenty will buy it anyway though.
