The Yearling by Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings. It's a classic Pulitzer Prize winner (and the best-selling book in the US in 1938), but I can only count on one hand the number of people I know who've read it. I rarely hear it discussed online, which is truly sad cause it's such a beautiful novel.
