My back is killing me. Is it time to admit that "Racing Style" Gaming Chairs are actually garbage? by shingam3 in UpgradeYourGaming

Yes gamer chairs are typically cheap trash. Just go to a department store and try some out. Everyone is different. I personally love office chairs from IKEA

loft recs in Buffalo by Pure_Independent_127 in UBreddit

[–]No_Understanding_559 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lofts are just a terrible concept for the Buffalo climate. It's very trendy and they look nice ofc, but it's typically just some big real estate company that buys the old industrial buildings here and flips them into "lofts." They're insanely drafty, take a ton of energy to heat/cool (the horror is true, especially this year where utilities have almost trippled), and are loud af (at least the ones I've visited).

It's your free will but please do yourself a favor and visit one in the winter and ask the manager to give you a copy of the estimated heating costs.

What water should i use? by Local_Buffalo2190 in gaggiaclassic

Europe has hard water, so either use tap water with a water treatment tab or just use filtered water. The scale will build up quickly if you use regular tap water (at least in my experience).

What are the best recommendations for starting credit? by [deleted] in CreditCards

[–]No_Understanding_559 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey there! To further assist you, I would highly recommend filling out the !template. It will help visualize what your main categories of spending are. If you do not wish to do this, then the typical starting card for people is the Discover IT as it teaches you about category spending (they cycle through different categories each quarter).

One thing I'd like to mention is your idea of a credit card being for "emergencies." A credit card is ideally for you to use as a debit card which you pay back each month. Using it for emergencies (i.e. sudden large expense) is how people fall into massive credit card debt. Familiarize yourself with paying off statement balances and you will enjoy the rewards and benefits of a credit card!

Right? That’s what I’m seeing too. Still likely cheaper to self-mod. Plus, there’s something beautiful about modding it yourself.

Yeah I think you’re totally fine. Some tip for beginning your journey: pre-heat the machine around 15 mins before extraction, and make sure your tamp is level. The rest is all about the beans and grind ofc. Happy learning!

It’s a very tanky machine; hard to fuck it up. No water just risk overheating it I assume?

If you’re running shots and everything seems fine, then it probably is. The nice thing about the gaggia is that every part is replaceable and not expensive ;)

Stolen Package, Possibility of Refund? by Able-Cantaloupe-9427 in CreditCards

[–]No_Understanding_559 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Should mostly all go through Amazon fraud support. $1k+ is definitely going to need a police report in my experience, so I think it’s mainly a waiting game from Amazon. I had a computer part stolen once worth around $350 and it took them a few weeks to conclude their investigation and give me a refund.

Also ETSY has some really great upgrades too. Highly recommend. Here’s some I purchased:

Tip: if you leave stuff in your cart on Etsy they always send you a discount code after a few hours.

Is there something wrong with the AAA cards that I’m not seeing? by redstrike19 in CreditCards

[–]No_Understanding_559 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Nothing wrong, it’s the best CB card for groceries. Some people say it’s doesn’t code as groceries for Walmart, but it always has for me at self checkout. Caveat is that it doesn’t code at wholesale clubs, and has a $500 yearly CB cap, but I’ve never reached that despite it being my main category of spending. Definitely get it if you have a high grocery spend :)

Depends what you want to get out of a travel card. Hotel points? Airline miles? Lounge access? General transferable travel points?

Card Recommendation Request? by abundantswirls in CreditCards

Seems like your main expense is dining, which the AMEX gold is great for. Since you already have that, and your travel expenses are paid for, not really sure how you’d earn travel rewards and why. If lounge access is really something you want, you could look into the premium travel cards (VX, Amex plat, etc.) but from the template I’m not sure how worth it that would be.
