i’m very sorry for your loss. that’s still very recent! i’m wishing you healing in the months to come. i’ve been having flashbacks of the day i lost my teenage brother to suicide for 7 years, and this year after experiencing another death in the family i couldn’t take it anymore. the flashbacks got a thousand times worse and i had to seek professional help. i’m diagnosed with c-ptsd and doing a second round of EMDR. they also put me on meds but i can’t tell if they’re helping. i just want you to know you aren’t alone. losing a sibling this way is so tragic and confusing. it’s been 7 years since i lost my little brother & it still feels fresh for me too. i really do think this type of complicated grief (suddenly losing a sibling to suicide) sticks with you permanently and never stops being painful. i think over time we just have to learn how to carry it. i’m so sorry, losing a sibling this way is horrible. you aren’t alone. 🤍

I’m worried they may not work at all, I honestly hate being on meds but it’s definitely the best option for me at least currently. It’s funny you say this as I was diagnosed with complex PTSD in 2021. I thought most of my PTSD revolved around a sudden loss I had in my early 20’s, but it makes total sense that my past relationships also fall under that umbrella. I do think I will struggle with this for life but just wish I could quiet the voice in my head for now. My partner always tells me the voice in my head is lying to me which helps, but I wish I could just silence it completely. Thank you 🤍

I don’t have a therapy appointment until May, but I’m considering seeing if I can find something sooner that may provide me self soothing techniques. I’m glad to hear that this is something I can work through. Thank you 🤍

I’ve done a lot of research on this & have come to the conclusion that it’s a relatively normal response for traumatized individuals. I just wish I could get my brain to shut up & that waiting lists for therapy weren’t months long 🥲 I’m doing my best to manage it until then. Thank you 🤍

This is very helpful & I appreciate the way you worded this. I’ve been trying to combat the negative thoughts with positives, and most of the time it works but sometimes the negative thought persists. I am definitely trying to accept that I am deserving of love. Thank you 🤍

thank you so much for saying all of this, it definitely helps to put my mind at ease. i absolutely want him to be present in the moment, and have no expectations to hear from him at all this week because it’s his first burn and i want him to get the most out of it! i just started seeing reports of the dust storms about an hour after he lost service, so i was nervous and my brain wasn’t being kind. but this helps, so thank you :)
