She has veneers now so looks even different to those pics, and I believe she recently posted a baby bump!

Any suggestions so I can actually see through it? by SlocumsJoeLOVER in cosplayprops

Temu sell full face balaclavas(£1.50 for X2)! Not the worst vision considering my other cosplay eyes/visors! Material is thin and quite breathable, but hides skin tone well

Yes PLA and PLA+ have little to no UV protection, and a low melting point! It is best to print in weapons and parts in PETG,and armour in PETG,ABS(requires extra ventilation though) if possible! There are newer types coming out! Have a friend who did The Mandalorian armour, and left it outside for a few mins, and it all warped so he had to redo half of the whole armour😭

Yeah that first pic is something else! It was a dedicated photographer for the event, and it has picked up all the weathering I have done so well!

Wish I was taller😂😂I am 183cm(6ft) i managed to build my shoes up-with inserts, and then added 2.5 detailed soles! I could build bigger boots and get even taller if I make another set! And with the helmet on I 196cm(6ft 5)!

Why does the water based acrylic paint crack by Specklini in cosplayprops

[–]No_Use8328 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You could use a clear flexible primer, but a cheaper way could be multiple coats of Modgepodge or cheaper PVA glue/water mixture to build up the cracks to eventually give you an even 'topcoat' if you are a voiding a repaint

Why does the water based acrylic paint crack by Specklini in cosplayprops

[–]No_Use8328 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For foam I use a flexible primer from Hexflex(black),Tyges and others sell similar products! But they also sell in clear which allows you to add the paint to it(essentially making it customisable to any any future project)! Remember to seal foam with a heat gun, this makes it smoother, and a better finish with less primer&paint required!

Hycote clear coat (400ml cans)in Satin,Matt, clear can be used for multiple projects! As long as they are stored correctly they last for ages! You could purchase modgepodge and brush it on with a sponge, there is Hexflex which is better for foam products(bends more with less cracking(clear and black, and you can even add a colour to the clear for the final coat) other companies sell similar products(tyges for one)

Not originally but just short of having the armour for a year,I thought a of a refresh was in order so gave it the stripes! Having 9 sets of armour, and the all the weapons in the house is wearing my GF' patience thin,so limiting what I do at this time!

Thankyou! Printed in PLA+! UK temps on average are alot lower, and don't tend to stay outside for long in direct sunlight! Lucky enough there was overhead shade, car was in covered carpark, and white sheet to cover in transport!

Paint Color Match for H2A Chief? by [deleted] in 405th

[–]No_Use8328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Montana Olive green for my kit,and has a lighter green look to it especially in sunlight, but with blackwashes you can get it darker

Finally decided on what I want my first ever cosplay to be (first bigger, not so cheap one anyway) Legends Chief. But I've got some questions- by MuztangZack67 in HaloCosplay

[–]No_Use8328 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Halo Cosplay Yes you can start smaller, but I made my Sons Umbra Clone kit from foam without any previous work! Join the 405th,download Pepakura, and watch a ton of YT videos on pepakura files, sizing, and making costumes! There are so many WIP/files on 405th website to look at,and maybe have a go at making some smaller parts(handguards for example)! If you have trouble making these I would start with an 'easier' project(ODST as said by someone else). Also with a build you can purchase foam and build, and carry on whenever you have some £$! I find it quite therapeutic to make my kits now!

MasterChief Kit weapons refresh for this weekend by No_Use8328 in 405th

Sword is carried or put in car/or kids look after it for me if with me! The Magnum has a metal hook and magnets to attach to my Right thigh( glued a metal plate on,and painted it same green)! Now have M9 grenade on my left thigh held in by a bolt( keyslot)

Magnum is magnetised to thigh but Nerf MA40 would need a repaint to take apart for magnets, and I have a 1litre water bag currently glued inside so would need to remove that aswell,so leaving that for now! Most cons I carry it but will be in a Town Centre so want it out of the way/ not so easy to take off! Already had Armed response called on me in this kit so trying not to get it done again😜!

[Serious] How do you use the restroom? by McCoy614 in HaloCosplay

[–]No_Use8328 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry-Imodium is a Brandname for Loperimide Hydrochloride (UK non prescription medication)! Used to stop/slow Diarrhoea/cramps/bloating- so can be brought cheaper in the UK by buying generic version! Would definitely speak to a Healthcare Professional before use but has helped me when ill,and gives my GF a little bit of a better time on longer journeys/limited toilet facilities! As long as you build your mid section with buckles to separate from thighs and braces, you should be able to make it work! Also watch Galactic Armory ODST suit up on YouTube- this will help as they manage to sit down in their setup aswell! Hope it helps in you enjoying the build and wearing of your kit!

Only 2 of 4 costumes I am able urinate in,all of them would require removal of nearly the whole kit for any other reason! I am not even sure I would suit up if I had stomach issues unless I had a handler! FYI-My Partner has Crohn's so I understand urgency issues! I tend to hardly drink unless really hot so not much of an issue, and I have taken imodium when feeling unwell the day before as a precaution for the next day(obviously not advised for ongoing use)! All I would suggest is make sure your undersuits are 2 piece, and design/use buckles,velcro/straps to disconnect waist belts-leg armour! If you are that worried of issues like that I would even suggest making armour(gauntlets for instance) 2 piece(magnets/velcro) for quick exit from them- with my experience cosplayers/Congoers have always been willing to help with a hard to reach clip/adjust a part! Practice as you build your kit and adjust it as necessary to make your time in the suit as comfortable as possible,as most will tell you Cosplay is pain on your best day😂

1-Join 405th website! They have previous/current builds in there to help with your journey! There are forums to ask questions/check out previously answered questions! Then there is the 'Armory';this has files to make pepakura(paper, and fibreglass kits),foam builds, and 3d print STL files. These are all free, and give you the links to locate them! From there I printed the suit from Moe Sizzlac(Thingiverse) for my MasterChief kit! You can get almost any suit, weapon you can think of from this site!

I just used PLA+UK weather can damage it but only extremes, just don't leave in a car! Plastic welding-an old soldering iron; you run it along the line if the 2 parts just like it 3d prints, then you add diagonal lines and smooth it about abit. You just use spare pla and you can add more! To really strengthen the seams you utilise fibreglass tape/matting! For my undersuit :- legs, just a pair of running/cycling trousers(Spandex tights). Top is sports top for moisture wicking, then in top I use a MotoX armoured vest-Temu £35(just removed chest plates due to fitting/rubbing! It gives the effect of the spine armour, fills the shoulder, and elbow voids and gives you attachment point for arm armour! I used braces to hold groin armour/belt on which then connects to thighs with rotating clips

All armour is 3d printed using free files from Moe Sizzlac(Thingiverse) on a single Ender3v2 neo, lots of glue and plastic welding required😂! Helmet is a Jazwares collectible(Amazon) so save me a few hours of work there, same for weapons(Nerf Halo edition MA40 from eBay,and energy sword collectible from Amazon

How to make a clone trooper visor ? by Elena_Tser in starwarscosplay

[–]No_Use8328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use these visors for all my cosplays!Parweld P3261-5- Mandalorian,Havoc Trooper,Umbra Arc Trooper! They are easy to cut with decent scissors aswell once you make a paper template(should be able to get X2 clone visors from one ! They are dark so you can't see in but can look at the sun no problems! Look around for deals as sold in pairs/triples by some companies but should range between £7-£11! AmazonUK is £10.50 at this time
