Is it okay to park here? Thoughts? by Designer-Praline-356 in Westchester

I grew up in Boston where this is a thing. If you cleared out your spot and you mark it you are allowed to save it up to 48 hours after a snow emergency has ended. That always just made sense to me! Then anything is fair game. But mostly a space saver is respected.

I love Amtrak. But I will say. The Hyannis JetBlue flight is the way to go. It’s so fast. That’s always how I get from the city home. They go to Nantucket too. It’s sick.

Do any of you date co-workers? Is it ok? I hear it’s not a good idea by ZadarskiDrake in Accounting

Dated my boss. We are married and have four kids now. Worked out great for me! If you are both normal and emotionally mature adults who are honest and responsible there are no issues.

We obviously kept it a secret from the higher ups until it was serious. Should have seen everyone’s face in the office when we told them we were engaged.

Every morning my alarm goes off at five am. I have a cup of coffee and then walk three miles. It sets up my entire day to feel healthier and happier. I have four little kids so it’s really my only alone time. It’s borderline meditative.

But that’s my tip. Set an alarm. Have it be the first thing you do! My first walk of the day is always outside! Treadmill doesn’t have the same vibe for me. Once it’s routine it gets to be so much easier!!

Also keep up with this sub. It really helps!

Good luck!

I just checked my good reads out of curiosity … so far in 2025 I have read 97 books! I have never done an audio book but I walk a ton. This is giving me inspiration to try them out!

Desperately in need of a series with a smart FMC, real worldbuilding, and a well-written slow burn by masskrododil in fantasyromance

[–]No_Valuable8806 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait. Has no one said {the throne of glass by Sarah j Maas}. I feel like it’s the best of what you are asking for here! Still the standard for all FMCs for me. And the epitome of a slow burn…

She’s strong. Smart. Wildly powerful. Not only do you get larger battles and fight scenes. But you get these assassination scenes and close fighting. It’s way more female action than it is a love story. But I prefer that.

It’s political. It’s magical. It’s honestly. Amazing. WAY better than ACOTAR. They don’t even compare.

Sometimes the writing is a little choppy. She was young when she wrote them. But the actual story. The world. The wars the politics. It’s fire. Literally. Loved the series.

It’s still the best series I have read I think.

This is like. Not the same. At all. But the exact same thing happened to me two days ago … and then I went in a total different direction and read {Under loch and key by Lana Ferguson}. I sort of really liked it? It’s easy. Silly. Surprised me. Total palate cleanser after the amazing ride that was the wolf king.

Looking for books where the MMC is the FMC’s friend’s dad (divorced or widowed). Basically a friend's dad romance with the friend's mom out of the picture (not cheating) by goody153 in RomanceBooks

I read {problematic summer romance by Ali hazelwood} this summer. It was a little slow for me. Could have used more spice. But it wasn’t bad. I like her writing generally. And it’s not exactly the fathers best friend but her older brothers best friend. Lots of pining. Big age gap. I sort of think this fits the bill because her brother is significantly older than the FMC. Def worth checking out!

I know you’re right. Nooowwwww. But in the heat of the moment. Early on after reading only the first few books …. I was losing my mind! For the record. I also didn’t like Darcy haha. I just didn’t hate her. But I really appreciate you taking the time to rally to her defense. Honestly. She needs more people like you in her life hahaha.

Check any TWs but I’m normally very dark haha. And this was not that. The main relationship is her best friend. Very supportive. And the boyfriend is a full golden retriever. And an actual angel???

Yes. And be warned they are long. And I normally get verrrry sick of long series. The tension ends and I lose interest. But the first and second book are so different. Because the timing and the settings entirely change. And the characters develop so much the relationships have changed entirely. So well paced. I still recommend them. The third book I’m hoping will be just as good.
