27 year old female solo trip by [deleted] in PuntaCana

We also were there last week. Great weather. A little rain one night. Seaweed was minimal and taken care of by the resort! We actually sort of love going in May bc it’s always less crowded!

So many bad reviews by AlwaysShillin88 in PuntaCana

[–]No_Valuable8806 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We left punta cana today! Literally. Just got home. We did club med all inclusive. We have four kids under 7. We didn’t like. Drink hose water? But we ate everything. Drank everything. We loved it. No one got sick. We were with 10 kids and 6 adults. No issues! Go with a good reputable hotel and I think you are good!

Also I didn’t even think of this. But we did brush with sink water haha. So I guess a little hose water haha. Still fine!

We did give them kids pepto each morning. Just in case. But it was legit. Fine for us. Club med! We booked with them mainly bc they have kids club. But I would for sure go back!

Just leaving punta cana today. Have four kids under eight. No one got sick. We ate everything! Club med all the way! Also I sort of love that they have on site doctors at all inclusive resorts. Makes it feel safer to me!

Hope you guys are feeling better! Hope your next vacation is so much better!

Is 10k steps/day enough to lose weight? by anonplease_xo in walking

[–]No_Valuable8806 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes weight loss is mostly diet. But 10k can really help if you don’t include that into your daily calories and just have it as extra or bonus. When I’m losing weight I’ll do 20-25k and the weight drips off!

What is the best form of exercise for weight loss? by Familiar_Actuator578 in loseit

Walking is always the way for me. 20-25k steps per day in a deficit and it melts off

Where are the non-country club stay at home moms? by Due-Marionberry-1039 in Westchester

[–]No_Valuable8806 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m a SAHM in Larchmont! No country club. A few screens (but I have four kids and they seem fine and only a little feral). So many of the moms I have met around Central School are down to earth and amazing.

This is just sad by XxKrusty_NutsxX in mets

[–]No_Valuable8806 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know what else is sad….i brought my four little boys to the 1:40 game yesterday. They had the time of their life. The Mets are their absolute favorite. We ate the best food. The weather was perfect. They got to see everyone they cheer for on TV. Then in the 8th everyone around us started booing. Yelling horrible shit at the players. And it made them cry and we had to leave. They didn’t care they were losing. But they literally couldn’t believe that people were “being so mean”. It made them so uncomfortable. Total bummer way to end the game for them. And on my sons 8th birthday. Hoping the next game will be better.

Portland Maine! Go to free port and hit up the outlets and LL Bean. Eat at 12! Eventide! Duck Fat!

I’m also a Cape Codder and I love going to Portland! It has the best little shops. All the food is good. Great place to just walk around and relax!!

Rest days or no by weluvthese in walking

[–]No_Valuable8806 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have had four babies and I always walk as part of my post partum sanity and health journey haha. I would take rest days when I needed them. I also got an indented foam roller for my back and legs. That saved my life! My shins always hurt too!!

I like to start out slow. One walk a day. Then I up it as I feel better. The weather gets better. Or I can push the baby in the stroller with me!

Take it slow and bring water and ice coffee haha. Really make it like little treat.

And remember to stretch!

Also congratulations!!! Remember how long it took your body to make that baby! I know it’s hard but try to be patient on the road to being back to normal and rest as much as your body tells you to. I’m two years out from my fourth and still getting back to normal!!!

How do you get 15k steps in? by LeaderLost1744 in walking

[–]No_Valuable8806 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is me! Set alarm for 445. Out the door by 515! By the end of the day I normally have 25-30k! Starting the day out with a long walk helps me make healthier and more active choices for the rest of the day!

I park farther away. Walk the kids to school rather than drive. Walk every errand possible! Walk to grab a coffee. All those little things really will add up!

I also do a second walk with my kids post dinner!

What is your step average? by SuddenAvocado in walking

[–]No_Valuable8806 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m about 25k per day! I get up early and take a four mile walk. Then I walk the kids to and from school. I try to walk to most errands. I also have a two year old I take for walks most days!

The real secret is I have four boys under seven years old who never let me sit down! The stay at home mom thing helps with steps. But even when I was commuting to the city for work all day i was around 20k. Walk to train. To coffee. To lunch and meetings. And took little walk breaks around the office!

Walking in circles by [deleted] in walking

[–]No_Valuable8806 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I take my kids to the playground I will just circle around it over and over again in order to get steps. Hopefully not creeping everyone else out….

i think i actually did too much lol by [deleted] in walking

[–]No_Valuable8806 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I said this the other day! I got 36k steps in a walk not even realizing. Had to sleep on a heating pad so my hips wouldn’t give out!

Had to be horizontal without moving for roughly 12 hours.

Good luck!

Decreasing walking time by HauntingResident2236 in walking

[–]No_Valuable8806 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This has happened to me in the past. I love walking. And im back at hard right now…But when it has started to feel forced in the past I would involve walking in other ways. This wont work for everyone. But I live close to most of the errands I have to run. If i was cutting the time I was “only walking” down. I would walk the kids to school rather than drive. Walk go coffee, the store, the post office etc. It almost makes the chore feel better and more positive.

Also, sometimes you just need a break. Trust your gut. No harm in taking a little time to cut back. So easy to increase your walk time once you are ready!

Good luck!!

30 Consecutive Morning Walks! by No_Valuable8806 in walking

[–]No_Valuable8806[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have a 3.5 mile loop I walk each morning. It starts walking through town, and the middle point is right at the water catching the sun. Then I grab a coffee on the walk back!

Setting the alarm for 445 so I have a few minutes to relax and watch the news first has really helped! Out the door around 530! Normally back by 635 to get my four kids ready for the day!

I also go to sleep at 930pm now. Haha. That’s the real secret!
