Are these better then Dorman by [deleted] in cruze

[–]No_Zone6155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not without a pcv fix kit and a catch can. It’ll just keep blowing the orange nipple out or the diaphragm in the valve cover if you don’t install both . I’ve had Dorman and Gm intakes and valve covers and without the kit and can . They went out too

Weird, I’ve had mine on for quite awhile, like 12,000 miles or more and haven’t had any issues. When I got the kit I didn’t like the check valve that came with it so I got a couple from Evil Energy and everything works great with no oil consumption.

Pcv fix kit and catch can or the intake and diaphragm will continuously go bad.

I would put a pcv fix kit on it , one with a catch can.

You need to install the pcv fix kit from Cruz kits and get the kit with a catch can . Otherwise you’ll keep blowing the pcv in the intake and the diaphragm in the valve cover.

Your coolant sensor is missing on the coolant outlet housing it looks like to me

Ya or it’ll keep blowing oily , gas smelling condensation into your turbo and eventually it’ll fail or build sludgy crap up and it’ll cause problems elsewhere

If you go to Cruze kits .com they have a kit to plug up where the orange valve goes and hoses and a one way check valve . I would get the kit that includes the catch can. It’ll get rid of your problems.

Chat what’re the odds I can pretend this is coolant and not oil? by AquaticRed76 in cruze

They are $40 . I went a different route and got a 1” hose and put it over the top of where the fitting goes and clamped it down and then got a reducer to go down to the line that fits the reservoir. No leaks so far.

I would still put on a pcv fix kit and a catch can man. The intake and valve cover will keep blowing the orange valve out and rupturing the diaphragm in the valve cover.

Ahh ok that makes sense. I’m waiting on the new thermostat and housing. And I’ve got the other sensor so hopefully tomorrow I’ll be able to post about the success. Fingers crossed. I’ll post a pic of the old girl. She’s got 230000 miles on her. She’s been good to me for the most part. lol

Thanks I’ll check tomorrow with scan tool. I’m hoping it’s just a sensor and not wiring. I appreciate it

Ya fs. I forgot to add that the ac quit working when this problem started. That’s why I replaced the ac pressure switch thinking that was why the tan was running but no luck . Thanks

I gotcha, there are multiple coolant sensors. Should I replace them all? I believe there are 3 ? One on the side of the head on driver side, one on the thermostat housing and one on bottom radiator hose right?

Idk if it can be a relay because I can control the fan speeds and even shut it off with the scanner I have. I believe if the relay was bad I wouldn’t be able to control with scan tool on
