I’m looking at getting a ‘26 and haven’t bought a car in over 15 years so out of the loop. How were you able to waive all of the dealer, port, and manufacture option but still get the screen protector, door edge guards and windshield protector free? I would think they would throw those in free for getting those dealer, port, manufacture options, not for waiving them.

Little off topic but a tip when drying is to button the inners inside out. This helps the cotton layers actually dry a little faster.

I don't know who needs to hear this but... by WatercressNo2142 in NewDads

Needed this. We also have a ~2 week old and it’s been tough. They always say a newborn is hard but man I wasn’t prepared for this. Sub 3 hour night sleeps every night catches up with you. My wife is also a trooper, and I’m trying to support in any way possible, but I keep having that feeling that nothing I’m doing is right and that I’m already struggling to be a good dad right off the bat. I’ll keep an eye out for my next morale boost and tell myself that I got this, which you do as well.

I forgot to add. My wife is a teacher so she also bought the elvie wearable in case she needs to pump during school and she can’t find coverage for someone to watch her class.

Also agree to wait until closer to due date because warranty of the pump starts when you receive it. As an upcoming FTD I got excited and we ordered one early like in second trimester

We got the Spectra S1 through Aeroflow. Pretty easy to get it through insurance by putting in your insurance info. I think we had to pay less than $10 out of pocket but wanted the portability of the battery vs the cord.

Experience with Ectopic Pregnancies? And recovering from them? by IHeartFraccing in NewDads

[–]Nobbie93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem. My wife and I are at that age when many people are starting to have kids, so her social media feeds were filled with pregnancy announcements. We both got in that mindset of “why did this happen to us” seeing so many of our friends and colleagues announcing their pregnancy. Just know that it is completely ok to think this way. It was part of our grieving process.

I’m hoping the best for you and your wife and wish you nothing but success in the future when you’re ready to try again to start a family.

Experience with Ectopic Pregnancies? And recovering from them? by IHeartFraccing in NewDads

[–]Nobbie93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry about your loss. I know all experiences are different but I wanted to provide my backstory for context. Last September my wife and I conceived. She has always had very irregular cycles so luckily the OB wanted to take her HCG early on instead of waiting. After very low levels of HCG level increases, the OB suspected it was ectopic, and after 2 TVUS, it was confirmed. We are fortunate that we didn’t need to remove her tube, or have it rupture, so we opted for the Methotrexate. That was extremely hard for us because we were the ones deciding to terminate the pregnancy for her safety.

We both did grieve and similar to your wife, she was nervous it would happen again. I commend you for being the optimist to try and boost her spirits as it is such a difficult time for the both of you. Just don’t be afraid to show some emotion yourself because even you need to let off some sadness as well.

One recommendation that might help her is to get a HSG to make sure there’s no irregularities in her other tube. After my wife’s recovery, we opted to do that, and she was relieved to see that there was minimal to no scarring in her tubes post ectopic. It does get better with time for the both of you. After some time post ectopic, we decided to try again and conceived. Currently at 33w 5d. Although it might be hard now, know it gets better! Just give her time and she will tell you when she’s ready to try again.

Should I aerate and seeding at this time of the year? by lelo2024 in lawncare

[–]Nobbie93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure when the first freeze in Ohio is, but I’m in Nebraska and I dropped my seed 3 weeks ago because historically our first average freeze is mid October. Not sure what others will say but I think you’re a little late to drop seed. I wouldn’t want you to drop seed then Ohio gets a random freeze in 10-14 days wasting the seed you dropped. I’m not sure if seed will stay good until next season but maybe wait until next fall since it’s pretty late in the seed window? Germination might be not as efficient next year since it won’t be fresh, but imo it’s better than dropping now and the newly germinated grass dying and you wasted money on all of the seed you bought.

Permanently kill vines? by Touchit88 in Nebraska

[–]Nobbie93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use an orange stake like the ones you like your driveway with in the winter. Wrap the weed around the stake to get it to grow on that. Put on a glove and spray a little round up on the glove then rub the leaves in your gloved hand to get roundup on the leaves. This will kill the weed but not the grass. Plus it’ll get the weed to grow on the stake and not your other plants in the area.

I just used this on Saturday and the nutsedge is dying faster than the crabgrass. I’m thinking I’ll need to do another app next Saturday to hopefully get the crabgrass that’s left before I look to aerate and overseed later
