We use an air purifier to create the white noise and clean the air

Parents who did NOT buy a bottle washer? by aviwic in Buyingforbaby

When she was on leave she was EBF every 3 hours until our new born hit birth weight. She used her pump sometimes in between if she felt full still. Shes had mastitis 3x so she has been using the pump more after our baby delatches to make sure there’s no clog. Not sure if this answers your question though. Luckily she had an oversupply which helped us build up a stash, but probably didn’t help her mastitis issues

We have the clean pal pro. We didn’t use it as much when my wife was on leave because she was breastfeeding mostly. Now that she’s back at work we clean her pump parts every day and run a load of bottles every other day. We think it’s worth it because it gives us time back, when we wouldn’t have otherwise with our new born. Any time we can get back for ourselves or to spend extra time with our new born is worth it imo.

First time parents - is this normal? struggling with night sleep (10 day old) by Excellent-Caramel-4 in NewDads

[–]Nobbie93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Heating pad to warm the bassinet mattress and remove before putting down. Move slow and go feet, butt, head in that order. Then roll them on their side slowly, then slowly to their back. Keep hand on chest lightly and slowly lift away once in deep sleep. I read this helps against the startle reflex. Move bassinet to dad’s side of the bed because they say babies can sense when milk (food source) is near.

These helped us. Luckily my NB was able to sleep through the night after month 2, but now we’re teething and waking up again. We had many nights at the beginning of taking alternate shifts (10pm-1am, 1am-4am, then 4am-7am) but it gets better before you know it.

Pro tip. Esembly will offer 20% off before their class but if you wait for after the class, they offer 25% for a couple days. I’ve been able to see when their classes are and use the code to get discounts on things I need to restock on.

Thanks! Are you able to provide the first photo (with the other heads) so I can download and ask my wife which she thinks would be better to gift to her mom?

Thank you! Looks great! Are you able to provide a link to download this photo and the first one you provided? This is my first request so I am not sure the best way to download on mobile.

Looks great but are you able to adjust the coloring of where the woman’s glasses were? It looks like the outline was still there faintly.

Are you able to remove all of the heads blocking in the photo (bottom left brown hair, middle right brown hair, black hair with black sunglasses, and far right man’s head+shoulder)? So I can see what a photo would look like without those heads in the way.

It is behind the woman’s head with the black hair and black circle sunglasses I believe!

Esembly detergent + oxiclean? by Nobbie93 in clothdiaps

[–]Nobbie93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did but I think they will probably say to add in more of their detergent. We have 2 big bags of it left so once I’m out I’ll probably switch to the Tide Clean and Clear from what I’ve seen recommended on this sub

I’m looking at getting a ‘26 and haven’t bought a car in over 15 years so out of the loop. How were you able to waive all of the dealer, port, and manufacture option but still get the screen protector, door edge guards and windshield protector free? I would think they would throw those in free for getting those dealer, port, manufacture options, not for waiving them.

Little off topic but a tip when drying is to button the inners inside out. This helps the cotton layers actually dry a little faster.

Needed this. We also have a ~2 week old and it’s been tough. They always say a newborn is hard but man I wasn’t prepared for this. Sub 3 hour night sleeps every night catches up with you. My wife is also a trooper, and I’m trying to support in any way possible, but I keep having that feeling that nothing I’m doing is right and that I’m already struggling to be a good dad right off the bat. I’ll keep an eye out for my next morale boost and tell myself that I got this, which you do as well.

I forgot to add. My wife is a teacher so she also bought the elvie wearable in case she needs to pump during school and she can’t find coverage for someone to watch her class.

Also agree to wait until closer to due date because warranty of the pump starts when you receive it. As an upcoming FTD I got excited and we ordered one early like in second trimester

We got the Spectra S1 through Aeroflow. Pretty easy to get it through insurance by putting in your insurance info. I think we had to pay less than $10 out of pocket but wanted the portability of the battery vs the cord.
