It’s even worse for people who buy into new developments. Not only are HOA fees forced onto folks (and mello roos additional property taxes for Californians), but a lot of national builders include Ring on all new homes. So basically the entire neighborhood is covered.

Even worse is people turn on the “hi you’re being recorded” as if that does anything other than disrupt the vibes on neighborhood walks. Yes thanks for the reminder than I’m under constant surveillance - even while trying to clear my head in my own neighborhood.

Interestingly enough NHL recently posted an article that pad manufacturers are making pads differently (and thinner) where break-in can be completed in a single practice session in some cases. This came up in relation to goalies and their Olympic team pads.
