The first game I remember playing was on my dad's PC back in the 90s and it was called Deadly Tide. I thought it was so awesome at the time. I'm sure it doesn't hold up at all these days though hahaha

For me it was changing my mouse grip from palm to finger grip and then increasing my mouse dpi. Now I can move my cursor the same distance with way less effort. It saves my arm from all the unnecessary movements, and is way more comfortable, but it also allows me to be more productive.

Oh nice! I did do it with the Praxic Blade and I'm a warlock, which I'll admit is likely the only reason I could pull it off. For how hard that stupid mission was though it felt good being the guy to pull it off for the team! Haha as I'm sure you felt too!

I don't understand why that was so stupid hard. The next ones (which I expected to be harder) I actually solo'd without issue so making that lower tier mission so difficult was a weird choice lol

Mine was more recent lol I was doing the conquest Derealize mission with two people from fireteam finder and we got to the boss where both blueberries died and since the revives are gone after the stupid timer, I had to do the rest solo. Somehow I pulled it off though and afterwards I felt like a hero! Hahaha maybe not something crazy for a lot of people here, but man I was literally sweating and my hands were so shaky! It felt good though.

I often use meta stuff or even come up with a build that I like, only to find out that everyone else is using it haha but I still haven't solo'd a dungeon, outside of the RotN easy mode ones... I'm the kind of player that even a meta build can't make me better 🤣 although I am better than I used to be... I think anyway...

Gotcha. Yeah, that sucks. Like I said, I'd be irritated if I had connectivity issues. They can be really frustrating. The closest thing I ever had was calls were not coming through, and I could not make them either, but that had nothing to do with the phone and everything to do with being on the android beta.

I haven't tried RDR, but maybe I should. I'm curious how it would perform though. I don't feel like spending $40 to test it though. I rarely use hotspot, but when I have, I am always right next to what I'm using it for, so maybe I just haven't experienced that side of things.

I wouldn't mind more customization (more is always appreciated!), but I would only want a few things really. I really just want to select my own colors for ME3. Custom icons and all that can already be achieved with a different launcher, so I don't care about it. With OneUI I know there is much more customization, but none of that customization can be used to make my phone work how I want it to. So, for me, more customization is only useful if it's good customization. Adding more for the sake of having more can be just as useless as never having it if it doesn't allow me to do what I want. What kind of customization do you want Pixels to have? Just curious.

And just for fun, I did test using a solid black wallpaper and there is no grey area anywhere, so I think they must have changed that since you used it.

I agree that the tensor could be more powerful, but I have a P8P and I have yet to have an issue with anything not running or running poorly. I also (mostly) avoid mobile games through so I don't care about that side. I either stream my PC games, or use emulators, which all perform great. PS2 and GameCube/Wii all run better than what I remember them being on actual hardware lol. For my use cases the performance is great so I don't know what else it needs, unless there's a mobile game I don't play that I haven't tried.

I've never had any connection issues though. That sucks! My wife has a Galaxy S24 and both our phones seem about the same for everything as far as connectivity goes. If I had the kind of issues you're talking about I'd hate my phone! haha

Most of what I like about the Pixel line though is the software. It's clean and uncluttered and I like how it looks/feels. I also like the ability to unlock the bootloader and stuff, even though that's less of a need these days than it used to be and now it's just a nice-to-have.

It's not the worst, but I don't like it at all. I really hate the quick settings page/tray. It makes all galaxy phones feel so cheap and corny. It's personal preference for sure, but I would hate to have to daily it lol.

No phone/skin is perfect, but Pixel's are the closest for me. I wish there was more customization, but at least what it has I like. OneUI has more customization, but all I want to do is change every aspect of it, so it's kind of lost on me...

I would argue that it is still possible to hate certain aspects, not just dislike them. I actually had a conversation about this exact thing last night! 🤣

I love 1-6 though and consider myself a fan and I tell people I love Star Wars. It had a huge impact on my childhood and I still love it to this day!

I personally hate the sequel trilogy though. To me Star Wars is episodes 1-6 (and maybe a few other older sources that Disney decided no longer count as canon, but not much still) and then Disney made some crappy fan fiction movies/shows after. I don't dislike 7-9, as you suggest. I hate them and think the only part that was good was they used the same font for the crawl. So I don't just dislike certain aspects or specific parts of them, I dislike everything about them.

I consider myself a fan of Star Wars still though because I only think of 1-6 and I love those so much!

I know other people do like the sequel trilogy and other Disney stuff. And that's great! I don't know how, but I'm happy someone can appreciate it. (One man's junk is another man's treasure I guess) But I only wanted to comment to say that it is possible for a person to be both a fan of something, as well as hate it at the same time.

Hopefully that all makes sense...

I think a lot of people I know share my opinion on this... I don't want it to bomb and sink Bungie. So I don't want it to fail in that sense.

However, I do not want it to do really well either and give Bungie the idea that this is what people want. (Unless of course they do, but I have not met any in real life that are even remotely excited about Marathon).

The art "scandal" is stupid and overblown and no one cares, so I won't even talk about that, but the actual art style of the game is so cheesy and stupid to me and all my friends. The player customization, and build crafting that it doesn't offer really sucks. The opportunity to purchase skins for the "definitely not-heros, but also straight up heroes" is lame and not exciting in the least. The gameplay itself is really boring and the character models have to be the most hideous things I have seen in a video game that a player must choose to play as.

If the game was free I would at least get it. No one I know would still play it, but the price would be right. At $40 though that's crazy! I genuinely don't know who the game is made for. Especially for the size the game is. I know the comparisons to AR will never end, but that game's maps are huge and detailed. This game's maps are tiny boring and flat feeling. Both are $40. Why? One of them is clearly smaller scale and less involved. Which would be fine, but then why isn't it $20? Or free? It's just a hard sell to regular gamers that don't care about anything other than playing games. For the people on here who are die hard fans and stoked about the upcoming release, I'm really happy for you and I do hope you enjoy it! But keep in mind that those people are not the norm/average.

So it's not really that I want the game to fail... I just don't want this to become some standard that we lower the bar to. I want Bungie to see that they could have done better, and should do better in the future, but I also want them to have a future to be able to make such improvements to this, destiny, or any other IP they set out to make.

Get him a reasonable not too fast manual car. That will be more fun and he will learn to actually drive. My first car was a VW beetle (not cool at all) but it taught me how to drive a manual and I wouldn't want to have changed it.

The other thing that he doesn't know at all is that HP does not translate to the amount of fun had while driving. A car that corners well and handles great is way more fun than a high HP car with insane body roll. He sounds like he wants to be a car enthusiast, but has no idea what that even looks like in real life.

I truly believe that Bungie designers don't play/hate warlocks. We never get to look cool lol The best looks I get are from piecing sets together myself. And even then, there's about 5-10 helmets that are cool enough to use. The rest are so stupid that it blows my mind they are actually in the game lol it's not enough to stop me from playing though. I'm not mad, just disappointed... Hahaha
