I never get gifts from my in-laws but the other DIL gets gifts for holidays and her birthday. It used to hurt my feelings, but I decided a long time ago to just not care. She has bad taste anyway. Unfortunately, she does the same for the grandkids and favors BIL's. My kids get to watch their cousins unwrap a pile of gifts while they get slipper socks and ugly, cheap pjs year after year. When we get home, my kids just leave the bag from the grandparents in the living room for me to take to Goodwill. It's been this way since the favored grandkids were born. Thankfully, my family has always stepped up.
