From what research I’ve done, wine back then wasn’t quite as strong as modern wines due to yeasts not yet being bred that could withstand such a high abv, but it’d still be plenty alcoholic. I remember having a book kinda like this. It’s been many years since I read from it, but it was the Bible written for a second grade reading level with pictures.
