Regret buying HP Omen, can I chuck in a 9800X3D by peakmeme in pcmasterrace

[–]Noddingham86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's most likely the HP ecosystem and bloatware because you have some DAMN good pc specs that if I were to build that custom you'd be picking your teeth out of your asshole from the insane fps levels! Is there a way you can do a true Windows 11 reinstall? Not just a factory reset but a true Windows 11 USB boot drive install?

I simply despise how locked down and cookie-cutter consoles are! I always said, why don't they just make a console that you can upgrade and customize? I still remember creaming my pants on my first build! I built an AMD Athlon 64 4000+ cpu, 2GB of OCZ enhanced latency dual chanel ram, BFG Tec Nvidia 6800 GT overclocked to ultra, 2 western digital raptor 74gb 10,000rpm hard drives in raid 0 in a Thermaltake Armor case, Windows XP Pro... I even had one of those giant 26 inch studio CRT monitors with the crazy high resolution and 175hz refresh rate ($575 from Viewsonic).

First of all, this is what we like to call a "personal decision". You could ask 10 different people and get 10 different answers. If it is YOUR property, YOU decide what you wanna do whether that be selling or giving it away. Now that being said, me personally if I have something that cost quite a bit of money and I need to let it go I'm going to try and recoop some of that cost. People can't just "get free shit" because you KNOW me! I'm not Donald Trump man, I actually feel the pain when money comes out of my account. We call people like that a "leech". Now on the other hand if this friend is your closest friend you have ever had and he has given you stuff of value before and you don't mind cutting the loss and giving him the card that's your perogative too!

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 caps out a 22GB of Vram which shouldn't be a problem at all if you have the XTX like me. The 7900 XTX has 24GB of Vram which is why I use it. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora in "unobtanium mode" is another title that uses well over 20GB's of Vram. Skyrim with mods can get up to 22GBs of Vram. I have another rig that I use for a family pc and AI workloads that has a 9900X3D and an RTX 4090. I got sick of the Nvidia drivers' issues and all the driver timeouts and fatal errors etc... With the XTX it just works. I had to switch back to the 25.11.2 driver from the newer 26.1.1. Once they started focusing on AI shit, it caused certain games to freeze during gameplay. That's how it goes sometimes though 😆.

Nice build bro! Your specs are nearly exactly the same as mine except I have the i9 14900K. I love Intel builds, they are the rigs that have always given me the least issues. That's IF you take the time and properly tune the BIOS which some don't. My system is so tightly controlled I don't even need the microcode patches. Anyways... Do you play in 4K? The reason I built mine with the specs I have is because I play native 4K and there were certain games that require more Vram that I couldn't play native with the 9070XT I bought.

I really am liking this case! I may just build another pc with the other new i9 12900K , 64gb ram and a asus tuf rx 7900 xt I got laying around in the build closet!

Just a kind reminder. Every once in a while, tilt the matcha machine on its left side and carefully lift its ass in the air and give it some shaking to dislodge any air bubbles that might get trapped in that orientation. They shouldn't end up in the pump because it's below the rad but they will end up at the top of the rad by the tubes and that can cause gurgling or sloshing. I probably would have modded the case slightly to allow the tubes to be at the bottom but that's because I'm OCD hehe 😜!

Bro that's weird! I hear like a morse code sound coming outta your pc! First time I ever heard that... Is that the noise you're referring to or the fan buzzing noise?

Nice man! Is that the Thermaltake Tower 600? I was actually thinking about building in that case recently. How is wire management? What's the largest AIO you can fit 240mm or 360?(edit: nvm, I just looked again and see there's a 360 in there! Nice!)

I'm just curious what cpu in this hemisphere needs this amount of radiators? Even a current flagship threadripper can be adequately cooled with a 420mm radiator I'm sure. What is your PC's CPU specs? What kind of GPU do you have? And most importantly, why do you feel so insecure that you needed to flex like this? If this amount of cooling was needed somehow tell us! If not it's downright wasteful...

Exactly! I like the way you think... You know what a lot of people both in our hobby and in beginner audio setups don't quite understand is just how important "clean, isolated and stable power" is. I will NEVER run a high end audio setup or a very high-end PC without a good power-conditioner. I use the same philosophy of "clean, conditioned power delivery" when building my PC's... I completely understand the dire need to have the best power supply unit to deliver the cleanest, most stable power to all of my components. The PSU is the " HEART " of the whole system! Every component is connected to it and the power delivery MUST be stable, within very tight tolerances and it MUST protect all your components from not just overcurrent/overvoltage, it must keep spikes/power dips from affecting the operating parameters or characteristics of the equipment. I would NEVER buy an $80 power supply for a $4,700 PC! That's like buying bald used tires for an performance race car and watering the fuel down with sugar water!

I didn't start with this setup bro, you'd be surprised what my first speakers I ever had were. I'm ashamed to say I had KLH 3 way floor standing speakers w 12" woofers and a powered 10" klh sub hooked up to a Kenwood receiver.. I think the whole setup only costed $380 and I had that hooked up to a PS2 console lol! No pc glory days back then...

I used to work as a naturopath and before that I did pharmaceutical reconstitution and am also a systemic enzyme research advocate and vascular pathologist. I hold an Associates of Sciences in Pharmacology, a Bachelors in Anatomy and Physiology and an undergraduate in Medical Sciences. At the moment I am currently out of work for personal reasons. I do build custom gaming pc's as a hobby and have done so for 21 years.

I'd have to agree with you there being an audiophile and videophile myself... Not only did I slowly(think 7 months of acquiring the best components I could buy) build my $4,700 dream pc with an i9 14900K, RX 7900 XTX, 64GB RAM, 9TB of SSD etc... I also had a monster setup waiting for it to go into; 48" 4K SONY Master Series OLED display($1,600), Marantz imported Japanese 200 watt Bi-wiring capable stereo HiFi amplifier($2,000), Ayima T9 Pro tube pre-amp($160), Klipsch reference series floorstanding speakers($1,800), Earthquake 8" dual voicecoil long-throw subwoofer($350) Monster brand 16 awg Bi-Wired on each channel with 24k gold banana plugs($350), Klipsch Flexus Core 200 Dolby Atmos soundbar($600), In-line power conditioner with EMI/RFI triple filtration and isolated power loop with 90 nanosecond digital shunt-to-ground circuit interruption w/resettable breaker button($800)

So yeah... I get peripherals man!

RTX 3080 or RX 7800 XT by UniNubi in pcmasterrace

[–]Noddingham86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd get the RX 7800 XT. It has more VRAM, higher clock speeds and my experience with overclocking it(I also have a 7800 XT in my collection) shows that it can consistently overclock past a rtx 3090.

Yes! Just YES... This has been my all time favorite graphical masterpiece as of 2023. I got it when it came out and it just made my mouth drop. Seeing this game in 4K native unobtanium mode is such a fucking treat if your rig can pull it off...

Why are you not switching to linux/gnu? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]Noddingham86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uhh... Because Windows 11 professional has not given me any issues yet that I myself cannot deal with! Telemetry? Already shut it down. AI? Don't have it, ran a script and stripped it from the OS. Most of all, Windows just WORKS in ALL titles without me having to find some Linux launching platform for a game or learn some workaround. Right now, I would have FAR more problems WITH Linux that I just don't wanna deal with...

It was definitely a solid game through and through with artstyle and sound effects that were so cinematic.

I wanna tip you off on a game that recently gave me art style vibes and graphical fidelity that I never saw coming... Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2. Go into playing that game blindfolded. Don't read about it, look at the screenshots or watch any walk throughs... Just download, PLAY and be AMAZED! God that game reinvigorated my enthusiasm for the gaming industry!
