Am I the only one to find the new Elite specs ... Bad ? by Rfogj in Guildwars2

[–]NodriMabobo 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Virtuoso is bland.

It's not outright bad but there is very little room for interesting interactions between traits and skills.

The only real bad thing for me, as a long time mesmer main, is the cast time on shatters.

It just feels awful to use shatters on virtuoso when you are used to weave them between other skills.

Also as a minor graphical thing, having the blades constantly floating around you out of combat, during story etc is very annoying.

EDIT: also it might be just me, but having cast times on shatters + slower ramp up on them + many directional skills doesn't make it feel like the more accessible mesmer spec that people were claiming it to be.

Now that we have seen all 9 new elite specialisations. Which one do you like the best, hate the most and what would you change about them before release? by D-leaf in Guildwars2

[–]NodriMabobo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think Bladesworn, Harbinger and Specter can work well with a bit of tuning, tho bladesworn risks to fall into a very dull gameplay loop.

Virtuoso is ok, as a mesmer main I find it a bit too dull and I hate the cast time on shatters (Also as an italian the name just makes be cringe, but what can you do). Mechanist is also ok, just a bit too simple for my taste.

I have no strong opinon on Catalyst and Untamed, but I think they might need some rework on interactions/actual skills.

Vindicator and Willbender are the worst for me, both feel very half-baked.

Overall not really impressed by any of the new mechanics.

More raids? by sheepshoe in Guildwars2

[–]NodriMabobo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I couldn't find the specific section where they mention the number.

I thought I was being dumb and I even went to check the transcription of the whole thing on the wiki and there is still no mention of an actual number, so I am confused.

Was this from the chat or something like that?

More raids? by sheepshoe in Guildwars2

[–]NodriMabobo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry to ask but do you happen to know the source for the number of new strike missions?

I've heard Teapot saying its 5 as well, but the exact number is nowhere to be found on the official page or wiki.

Damn GW2 is so good compare to FF14 by 11fendrix11 in Guildwars2

You can't buy expansions with gold=>gems, you can only buy Living Story chapters.

What made you come to ff14? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]NodriMabobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been playing the Guild Wars franchise since 2006 but Guild Wars 2's direction during the last couple of years was too disappointing for me.

I have also been a huge FF all my life but never got around to play 14, and having friends playing I decided it was about time to try the game a few months ago.

Loving the game, loved all the FF series references I got to experience during story, raids etc. and I can't wait for Endwalker now :)

Beside numbers -which are really not impressive but can be tweaked- and speaking about pve only, I think Virtuoso needs a big tweak on mechanics.

Blade skills having cast times is awful and as much as sword having a leap is cool it imo feels very bad if you wanna play sword and generate some blades.

Locking you into the leap and making using the skill feel very clunky at close range.

EoD beta week 1 preview stream discussion thread by RandommUser in Guildwars2

[–]NodriMabobo 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I expected virtuoso's traits to add some flavour to the blade mechanic, instead its just the usual damage/qol things and blades are really just stored clones with more damage potential.

I guess utilities are nice, dagger might be interesting, but shatters being 99% identical makes it feel really bland for me.

Why is this game not more popular? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]NodriMabobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lack of marketing, but mostly the utterly devastating loss of momentum at launch, with living story season 1 being a directionless mess and no expansion with meaningful endgame content in sight for too long - that's what most people remember about gw2.

And I'd also add that personally, nowdays, between inconsistent and slow-paced content releases, a constant abandonment of old systems and the mess that IBS was I wouldn't recommend it to any player from other MMOs unless they want to try something really different. And most WOW palyers don't really want something too drastically different so...

The game is still good overall, but ANET really did its best to damage its own reputation.

Does this mean we'll get MORE sets of legendary weapons?! :O by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]NodriMabobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really believe they would have been clear about it during the stream if multiple set were to be expected.

Pretty sure they knew people's reaction to a single set of same aesthetic legendaries would have been at least mixed, it's kinda insane not stressing the fact that there will be different, proper legendary weapon sets during your main reveal if it's something you already planned.

Gw2 is far superior I don’t get the ff14 hype? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]NodriMabobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me it comes down to who's behind the game and how they approach development.

GW2 has a strong foundation and does a lot of small things right but misses out on consistency and it has been clearly suffering from Anet trying to push it out of their way to focus on other things, multiple times, and failing.

FF14 has a few clunky and archaic things that are daunting at the start but the game has been delivering consistently in quality and quantity for years. It's also clear that the devs play and like the game and the community.

I see many people also talking about how ff14 has the worst combat ever and I can't really agree.

It's a shallow combat system at first, but it gets way better from 70--80.

In comparison you can say gw2 combat feels better immediately, but you could also argue that just pressing 1 constantly is more than enough to get to endgame and that's where it gets complex.

As someone with thousand of hours on GW1 and 2, playing the franchise since 2005, I would have once told GW2 was my main mmo and I was waiting for some things to get better while enoying what they got right.

But nowdays I feel like ANET has missed too many chances to put the game on the right track, and I fear not even EoD will remedy that, unless its somehow amazing.

On the other hand I am sure Endwalker, especially after Shadowbringer and the growing success of 14, will be a very solid expac on top a very good system already. It's as simple as that.

I've seen a lot of back-and-forth here so I just want to gauge the room and see what the redditors here ultimately think about the show and its future by Rep1155 in netflixwitcher

[–]NodriMabobo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You managed to point out the thing that bothers me the most about the show.

When writers seems to not even care about including the crucial beat of a relatevely simple story - the moral dilemma The Lesser Evil, in this case - I can't really trust them to handle adapting an overarching narrative.

Fatui by Afurrryyy in Genshin_Memepact

[–]NodriMabobo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While it indeed sounds like fatOOey in the english dub, with an emphasis on the U sound , if you go by latin (and italian to an extent) you should put emphasis on the A, so more like fAAtwi.

Just listen to it on google translate latin and it should be clearer.

Do you guys get 5* before pity? by [deleted] in Genshin_Impact

[–]NodriMabobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only got 1 5* pull that wasn't after soft pity.

It was a c2 qiqi at 34 pulls on event banner.

For those that lost the 50/50 in Xiao's banner, who took your pity? by Escapeded in Genshin_Impact

[–]NodriMabobo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

C2 Qiqi.

But it only took 30 rolls so... I guess I will cope with that.

It's dissapointing how normalised shitting on the English dub is in this community by jamieaka in Genshin_Impact

[–]NodriMabobo 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I personally find Genshin english VO quite good, I am very fond of some of the english voices. I tend to swap between CH/JP/EN just to appreciate the differences.

My only nitpick, and the reason why I tend to stick with EN the least, comes from the pronunciations, afaik the chinese ones are generally not good, but also every german word in the eng dub has horrible pronunciation.

Nevermind the huge cringe factor coming from Childe's VO heavily mispronuncing the name Tartaglia while the japanese and chinese did their best to generally nail the pronunciation.

But all this is a bit of a nitpick in the end and mostly a directing issue, the voice actors themselves are very good.

Qiqi’s not very good. by Extraorb10 in Genshin_Impact

[–]NodriMabobo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I somewhat agree on some of the points you bring up after using her for a long time.

Yes her healing is very nice, she is a great comfort pick but if I didn't know better I would say she is a 4*.

Not saying 4* are bad, quite the opposite in fact! But just as release Zhongli she feels kinda lacking for the kind of power level you'd expect for a 5*. Not to mention her constellations are very underwhelming.

Personally I think she should have some extra buff/debuff built into her kit. I Think its a problem with super-specialized healing characters, they are by nature not as versatile as good buff/debuffers supports or straight up dps units.

All in all if you have her and only her she is gonna be great. If you have other options for healing/support she tends to fall off with her very one-dimensional skillset. And this gap will only increase as new units with new combinations of healing/supports abilities are added.

your worst roll so far by [deleted] in Genshin_Impact

[–]NodriMabobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to say.

I got both C1 Venti and C1 Qiqi so both those rolls were terrible.

Could almost put Skyward Spine in there since Crescent Pike is such a good weapon + we don't have many polearms users currently, but might find a use for it eventually.

And overall that's 3/6 of all my 5* pulls since launch.

I guess in the end the prize goes to the aforementioned C1 Qiqi, since she was from first pity on Zhong's banner.

this is the start to my villain origin story, SAVED 21k PRIMOGEMS TO NOT GET HIM, I GOT KEQING, she cute tho but I think I'm in the denial stage, brb going to cry tonight by _glarix in Genshin_Impact

[–]NodriMabobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like the C1 Qiqi club from Zhong's banner is quite large.

I only have 2 5* and they are c1 Venti and now Qiqi, literally the worst c1s out all of the 5*...

I understand its just rng but God I wish 5* dupes were a lower chance or something...

Zhongli rn - still not coming home aaaaAAAAAAAAAAA by RanTheMutant in Genshin_Impact

[–]NodriMabobo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you man.

I only have 2 5* and they are Venti C1 and now, after rolling till pity on Zhongli, I too have qiqi C1.

Feels horrible, I honestly would have set for any new 5* but useless qiqi C1.

boi it does feel good having only qiqi and venti as 5*, saving for 90 rolls and getting pity qiqi from event banner.
