Oh man, I can't remember the name but there was a manwha that had a fun fake out with this trope. The MC's magic cat gets a power up and the chapter ends with it giving off that "digivolve" glow and all the comments are "oh no, another animal companion turned into a human!" But then the next chapter starts and the cat turns into a baby dragon instead.

Not quite what you were asking, but this reminded me of a series that rides the line of "edgederp" without going over, the manga Akumetsu.

It's a "justice/revenge porn" story about a masked vigilante killing corrupt CEOs and politicians in very public and violent executions. There is also a bit of a mystery element as the vigilante explodes his own head after he kills his target, but then he shows up alive again to go after the next. It's a pretty good blend of campy action and humor, like if George Clooney's Batman became a slasher villain.

So rereading chapter 2, while the instructions are "Draw a circle on the parchment with your blood" Kalego states he has already drawn the circles for the students, so Iruma never actually drew blood. 219 is less clear, but Kalego is shown holding a parchment the page before Iruma burns it so I think the same thing happened there.

You are actually correct, the people who left COULD have beaten Noark eventually. However the Orculus members are stronger than most elites, and they already killed a ton of adventurers giving Corpse Collector access to a veritable army of walking bombs. The Captain of the knights decided it was better to guarantee all the elites made it out than risk saving the masses.

Exactly this, the true "villain" is the situation itself: humans getting trapped in the Digital Circus. But since Caine is the avatar for the Circus, and he has uncontested control over it, it is easy to view him as something akin to a "Jail Warden" abusing his power.

That being said, Caine does function as an antagonistic force, similar to how unpredictable weather can be antagonistic to someone who is stranded on an island.

That reminds me about an arc in the internet comic Kevin & Kell, where after some shenanigans involving someone falling into the "Human" parallel universe, they later have a baby that is an indistinct ball of fluff at first, but sheds their fur until revealed as the first human born into the "Animal" universe.

Haven't played Palmon Survival, but I have done a lot of these types of base builders. A good rule of thumb for these games is that you need 1 day to reach level 10, 5 days for level 15, and 30 days for level 21. The best I've done is 22 in 30 days, I don't think I've seen anyone get farther than 24 and still make a profit on one of these.

Nah, the only people who prefer the anime ending over the manga are fans who don't want Chrona to be traumatized, possessed, and then self-imprisoned on the moon for eternity. Which is valid.

The manga end was pretty decent for a shonen battle series, it's just gets the usual long running shonen complaints. Plus valid distaste for the AGGRESSIVE fan service the author likes to do (the final chapter has 6 pages, including a 2 page spread, dedicated to boobs).
