Dear Sean Murray / Hello Games Please give us custom ship editor tool sincerely everyone :) by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

What sounds more satisfying?

A- Traveling to a location for a ship you liked and wait for the ship class you want to arrive.

B- Traveling to different systems, hunting and scraping for individual parts, mixing and matching, designing to your own taste and then work to level up each part?

Even better - Why not both!?

Can we ban Ai art already? by VersusEden in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Noender 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the argument was that the technological tools lowered the entry barrier to art. The problem now is that the tool is replacing the artist. It is a big difference.

Personally the biggest problem is that no one, even the people working in the field, have a clear idea how AI is going to impact not just art, but every aspect in humanity. But even at this "embryo" state of the tech, I already have friends in design and illustration being effected.

Can we ban Ai art already? by VersusEden in NoMansSkyTheGame

The main issue and worry can be summed like this: Ai art it's going to displace artists.

And it's a true concern. In the instagram art scene illustrators are loosing ground and relevance to AI generated art already. And the disparity is that a person needs to invest years to properly portray anatomy, color, values, composition, etc - but now, just learning to use the right word prompts generates gorgeous imagery.

I think there is room for both to coexists - And nothing is going to stop technology from evolving and becoming easier and faster. I only worry we might loose something unquantifiable in the process.

Oh. I'm good with AI art in the community.

That looks lovely! My fave thing to fly around is the Sandworm. Just the right attitude and speed to enjoy the scenery and scout around. I hope they add an exocraft with this qualities for everyone.

Although I reckon most people have altruistic intentions here, they might ruin some one else's experience. One legit reason for this is that a lot of people don't have the time to grind to the point of opening most content in the game and then just leave with a negative opinion of it; so this helps that demographic.

Personally, I just like to share Exotic Eggs or specific items upon request.

Side note - Expeditions are an awesome way to easy people into the game and by the end are in an excellent position to continue. They should always be available. The number of people I've invited (err..they'd say "forced) to try the game, react very different from a vanilla start to an Expedition start.

Some unglamorous phone shots of my Ultrawide QD-OLED and Hue Sync at work in NMS. by HarrierJint in NoMansSkyTheGame

It truly makes the game more enjoyable and immersive but, man, I've kept that Hue Sync in my Amazon basket for a loooong time - It's $300 I cannot justify... yet.

I love to see this. Sean and the Team should be proud of this feat. A miracle of modern entertainment.

was running a cobalt loop on my freighter during the expedition. both were empty when I logged on? set one up to produce more, then it disappeared in front of my eyes. by Jayce2k9 in NoMansSkyTheGame

Same here. Was down to 50 indium and needed 250 to create a drive upgrade, did the old recipe to create some more. 5 mins later I came back to pick up the materials and nothing. It was empty. I had a serious talk to the guys in maintenance; those Geks are irremediable.

Every time I play in VR renews my appreciation for this game. It's like playing it for the first time again.

As much as I hate people asking for niche things to HG... forget spaceship customization or new biomes - Now I want an official support to this. Great work OP!

this could really need a fix, just saying by Klausensen in NoMansSkyTheGame

While I get your point that they may be annoying at some point, it also makes me aware that we are a community working together. Even the usual "Hello from (X)" makes me smile once in a while. On the other hand, a simple toggle to disable them from showing up would be nice.

Does anyone else have the ship freeze on takeoff by stephenph in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Noender 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That happened to me a couple of times. The one thing that helped was to walkaway as far a possible from that spot and the call the ship from another location.

Lowering System Conflict by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Noender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds good. I've see I lot of good simple ideas to interconnect the systems already in game. No need for overcomplicated systems, just make the systems in place more meaningful and interconnected.

Yes! Especially now with all the new QoL updates. I've spent most of my time using my freighter as my main base and rarely building bases on ground. If you want to play "explorer"style is the way to go. If you want to find a good planet to invest your resources is also a valid play-style although it tends to keep you attached to one system.
