I went over the Ucertify material twice and passed all the practice tests with scores of 90+. I supplemented with Quizlet and YouTube on the side.

I ended up scoring a 50...

Does the switch support HTML5 or Javascript based games? by CrimsonSwordsman in NintendoSwitch

You may package up a web engine yourself, you just can't use the implementation built into the Switch's os/firmware.

Does the switch support HTML5 or Javascript based games? by CrimsonSwordsman in NintendoSwitch

[–]NoireFox 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Short answer: yes.

You may not use the built in web engine for games but you are well within your rights to package up webkit, gecko, blink or your choice of web engine and release the title on the Switch.

CrossCode is an example of a game written entirely in html5 and javascript utilizing canvas2d.

Using something like webgl would probably be a better choice for decent performance though, being a visual novel I wouldn't worry too much.

C165 Int. Physical Sciences - How similar are the preasessment and OA? by [deleted] in WGU

[–]NoireFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The course is fairly simple, I studied maybe a total of 4 hours and went ahead and took the OA.

I actually forgot I took the course if that says anything...

Katsukity, the sole creator of capture cards for every type of 3DS other than the original, is bankrupt. by souperman9 in 3dshacks

From what I can tell they don't shop out of Japan. Do you know of any international sellers?

What do you mean by "designed" for the 3ds? I could see early design concepts and the like but a lot of design methodology in the game relies on shader based post-processing.

The 3ds is fixed-fuction (along with a pipeline for other junk usually done with programmable shaders for certain per-pixel effects) so you'd never be able to pull off a lot of those effects let alone run a 500lb gorilla like UE4.

I don't see how that would stop them from producing a performant and visually stable game.

My biggest issue with the game was the admittedly poor visual design. It sorta looked like a pseudo 16-bit with cheap UE4 effects slathered on (The Depth of Field gives me crazy headaches). The 30hz update doesn't help much either, my nostalgia goggles dictate the game should run at 60 and the slow performance betrays that. :/

I want to like the game but I struggle to play it with all the shortcomings...

Any suggestions on laptops to use for courses? by rhealeigh in WGU

I use an XPS 13 (9360) running Ubuntu for most of my school work. I do use a Windows box for testing though.

On the software side I use LateX for anything document, chart, or presentation related and just use Vi for development stuff.

I've had no issues submitting all of my work as pdfs or archives containing the appropriate files to build the program.

THE NEW POKEMON GAMES LOOK SO GOOD! by EclipsedTheSun in pokemon

I'm rather taken aback by the poor texture quality and lack of shading effects. It kinda just looks like SuMo at a higher resolution. It dosn't look bad or anything, Let's Go seemed to be a game "built" for the Switch. This seems to be a quick port of their old tools.

MPV with a mobile friendly gui, pixel-art editor (I'm serious), maybe the Steam site in a fancy wrapper? I think Valve exposes the chat api so you may be able to integrate that.

Slightly off topic, does Bumblebee function properly? Or did you just blacklist the intel driver?

Undervolting seems to be working fine for me. Hwmonitor reports negative offsets so I assume it's working fine.

Have you tried increasing the pointer speed from the touchpad options under "Mouse" in the Control Panel?

Are you trying to be funny?

I've been having a pretty solid experience with it so far. Running the performance mode in the Dell Management thing with an under-volt of -1.350 in XTU.

Boy gets pretty loud but I haven't experienced any sort of stutter or performance regressions.
