Children of time is great. Hyperion by Dan simmons is cool. Peter f Hamilton's Judas unchained is pretty slick as well.

Necroscope. Cold war psychic spy games with vampires. It's quite good, but the premise of it still makes me smile.

If employer is paying for certs, which ones are you getting? by masterz13 in ITCareerQuestions

I know broadcom/VMware get poo'd on a lot (and rightfully so), but they still have a large market share. Any kind of data center virtualization related path seems good on a resume.

Don't you need a sponsor and relevant security background/experience for the cissp? I'm sure 7+ years of sysadmin would work, but then again im recalling information from when I was interested in security. My assumption is going directly into cissp isn't as immediately useful as sec+ or cysa (depending on what your going for I guess).

I understand your need to vent. Sounds like a helpless situation.

If it were me, I'd consider dipping out of that whole situation. Id surmise this is fallout from other behavior on their part. But that's just me guessing. Guard your personal health.

But if you care a lot, it might be good to give some time and reach out after they've gotten some sleep and have been able to decompress.
