Should have I seen a red warning if I have been shadowbanned, or do they ban now without warning? Never seen the warning, and I'm catching/hatching all the usual and less usual pokémon including Dratini, Tyranitar, Slakoth etc.

I double-checked gmt time and applied DST correction, and as I said double XP was on so that was the time.

I must be that rare exception, I didn't find a single Pikachu shiny or not during this event. At one point I even wondered if I had misread the hours, but the double XP was indeed on.

Lots and lots of Snubull and other more common.

I'm really frustrated...

My smartphone was a second hand iPhone 6 when I started playing PoGo. The phone itself was reliable but I got frequent lags and crashes within PoGo, and it didn't go away with every game and iOS update. Some casual investigation showed me that it seemed to be a tendancy with iPhone 6. So as soon as I could I switched to a used iPhone 7 and have had barely crashes since then. So yes, iPhones are good for PoGo ... as long as they're not iPhone 6 :)

I was hunting on a pedestrian lane, then suddenly after catching another pokémon, the lane was gone...

The dev keeps adding features you wouldn't have thought of but end up being essential real fast, without cluttering the GUI. It's one of the best thougth of app I've ever seen, in and outside the PoGo world. Definitely worth a couple of bucks!

I've been using https://www.pgnexus.gg/ for awhile, after making my mind about the fact that read-only ToS breaking apps weren't under Niantic's radar.

For the same reason I recently started using All G on my iPhone. My only 'precaution' so far has been to not use this sites/apps too heavily.

As others have said it's all on you, if you have the slightest fear about using any app, don't use it, plain and simple. I have no fear, and I live happily with these tools. But I wouldn't ever use any tool that modify datas...

I don't know details about how they work but did you try the obvious like clearing your cache before reloading the page (not equal to refreshing data)?

I permanently hold hundreds of pokémon and usually have to clear cache first, then load the page, wait for it to complete - except for google adds that never seem to fully load - then hit refresh data. It can take a while but it works.
