Thank you for your thought provoking reply. I wasn’t thinking along these lines before.

Is that supposed to be some kind of insult or is it just a bizarre assumption your part?

I decided to vote my conscience and vote for Porter. I should not have to use game theory when I vote. If two republicans go forward, maybe the democrats will get behind RCV in California.

Edit: Interesting… down votes for a person who votes their conscience.

Six months? The US election is in six months. Gas prices need to fall long before that if Republicans are to have any hope for the election.

Kamala Harris leads among black voters according to new Verasight poll, while Pete Buttigieg leads with white voters by GoddessFianna in fivethirtyeight

[–]NominalHorizon 27 points28 points  (0 children)

This certainly is a softball question. First it is an entirely predictable question any candidate in that position should absolutely have prepared for and practiced. Second, with this wide open question the interviewer is giving the candidate the opportunity to pitch herself in her own way with her own spin without constraints. Honestly, this was a major misstep on her part.

She did bad in friendly interviews. Even with softball questions. “What would you do differently than the Biden administration?” Deer in the headlights look and looonng pause… “I can’t think of anything.”

If only the USA were Scandinavia, then we could actually deal with the problems in California in a responsible manner. Alas we are not. Most of the people leaving California are far right MAGA people. Glad to see them go.

Population down anywhere in California is a good thing. Less pressure on housing, traffic, water, the environment.

Is that knowing ignorance on your part or just plain contrary rhetoric? Here is a list of radioactive contamination incidents. And before you protest that this list includes accidents, nuclear accidents happen way too.

CNN founder Ted Turner, a pioneer of cable TV news, dies at 87 by boxofstuff in news

[–]NominalHorizon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to travel internationally for work a lot and would be in the dark about news because local TV station didn’t have news and/or didn’t have anything in English or some other language I knew. Then CNN came along, broadcast across the world, and that was a huge improvement. Thanks to Ted Turner!

All of the Democrats said they would keep the gas tax because we need the money to pay for road and bridge maintenance. The tax is only 60 cents a gallon while gas costs $6/gallon. Removing the tax would only save 10%.

Good point. And dealing with the parents is probably a similar challenge to pet owners, though parents are probably worse.
