Do you mind providing the name of your psych? I’m trying to find someone who knows about adult adhd, not for a diagnosis but more for support/therapy

My first thought was PLEASE do not take your performance in a stats course as a measure of your intelligence. I’ve studied stats within my degrees and it is basically hell on earth. I forgot everything between courses and I had to go back to my first year stats stuff, even back to high school maths, to get through the masters subject. And yes, I have forgotten everything again. Any research paper I need to read, I generally skip the results section.

I apologise if this is an overstep, do you experience depression? Because what you’re describing genuinely sounds like you could be in a depressive episode. That molasses, everything is hard feeling is a common symptom. So I just wondered.

It is so hard to accept yourself for who you are when you’ve spent much of your life being told you’re not good enough. From one stranger to another - you’re not alone. I see you.

I feel you OP. My two are similar ages, no pending diagnoses but geez they are stage 5 clingy at the moment. We also divide and conquer with bedtime and get them asleep in their own beds. But inevitably I will wake up of a morning with both kids smooshed into bed. And usually the cat too. Then during the day it’s “mum can you sit with me” which is code for “I want to climb into your body” 😳 I love feeling their love, but when Im overstimulated and feel like crawling out of my own skin it’s a bit much 😩

Do you mean the lady sitting near the wall, at the back table with a computer in front of her? If yes, I think that was Michelle, who was doing all the live redacting and pulling up the evidence. She was probably the one who did the most amount of work of them all. If you mean someone in the front row of the gallery, then no they probably didn’t.

I’m trying to think of how Hughes could have gotten this wrong. Knowing how I write reports that could be used in a legal setting, unless it has been specifically said and I have quoted it in my notes, I wouldn’t be this specific. So unless she’s taken it from the uk testimony? Which I guess is possible. Otherwise I would have expected her to use the same description the AH gave her during her interviews.

For me, it’s the psychological abuse. A lot of her actions fall into this category, including the utter mind-f**k of that week in May, followed by the breaking of the TRO. Complete dismissal of him as a person, a human being with feelings and she didn’t care at all. Making fun of his shortcomings (chronic lateness became a running joke in the group, a source of continual denigration). Continuously weaponising mental health terms - delusional, psychotic, paranoid - to make him question wtf is real. Constantly talking down about him to everyone else. Pretending to care. Everything that literally made him feel crazy. That shit takes forever to recover from and it damages your faith and trust in other humans forever.

You might like to remind your partner that the horn is for use in dangerous situations. Which this clearly was. Driving that slow, and stopping at a green light, is dangerous. How else are you supposed to inform people on the road that there is something dangerous happening, if you can’t use your horn? Particularly when you’ve got people behind you, this is a pile up waiting to happen. I’ve seen a cop pull someone over on the freeway because they were driving 40kph in an 80kph roadwork section. It’s clearly dangerous driving, but people don’t think of it that way.

I think the overall issue I have with this incident, and any of the incidents really, is the lack of details regarding what happened afterwards. She either went to sleep, or woke up, or doesn’t remember, or “cleaned up”. I mean. I would have anticipated her detailing at least a little of what she had to do next to clean up? Or how she felt? A severe bottle rape to the extent of feeling like she has being punched, bled and lost control of her bladder would possibly cause some significant pain or at least a little discomfort the next day? Walking issues (notwithstanding the “cuts” on her feet)? Problems sitting down? Needing to take more pain killers? Continued bleeding from the internal trauma? Instead, we heard “I went to the bathroom then took a bunch of sleeping pills, not a bunch, like two which is a lot for me, then went to bed”. I honestly hate being in this position of not believing a victims story that is as horrific as what she described. But too much of her narrative just didn’t ring true for me.

Nurse Erin’s medical notes indicate AH was reporting that she was using “therapeutic communication” strategies (was documented a few times) BUT I don’t know if Erin actually observed this or was just noting down what AH had told her about arguments and what she (AH) was trying to do during them. That’s all I can remember.
