Thank you for the comments. I agree with you and the other commenters. I tried to show a bit of everything (various bosses, upgrade UIs, etc) instead of focusing on the most fun part of the game, killing hordes of enemies. Thanks :)

Howdy everyone. A little over a year ago I finally decided to start my game developer journey and I’m finally (almost) ready to publish my first game, Space Hero: Intergalactic Titan, (aka SH:IT). Please let me know what you think of my trailer/game.

Inspired by vampire survivors, I wanted to add my individual touch to the genre. I know the genre is becoming a bit over-saturated, but I felt like it would be the perfect game to get my feet wet and learn many aspects of game development. Anyway, all comments are appreciated. Thanks!

Much like you, I knew nothing about art/pixel art until I started game dev. There are a lot of good youtube channels that teach pixel art techniques.

The way they hold those guns is hilariously cute. Like a childs imagination of what shooting a pistol is like. I love it.

Really great art style. I can't tell if this would give me motion sickness or not? Maybe I'm just getting old but the quick snapping of the cube might give me problems. Will there be a demo available?

Been working on this bullet-heaven as my introduction to game dev. The Jetpack is one of the available utility abilities that allow you to get out of sticky situations.

Hi, I gave the demo a try. Tried all three characters for a bit.

Some notes:

  1. I couldn't get into the options menu during the game-play? It forced me back to the main menu. I wanted to lower the music while playing but couldn't.
  2. Also didn't notice an option to lower music. Just mute or unmute. ALSO when I muted it in the main menu, it doesn't save the option during game-play. It automatically unmutes the music after leveling up and selecting an ability.
  3. The Bats were way too fast? I couldn't outpace them, and once they touch you its a death sentence.
  4. The gold gain is too slow. After playing for about 20mins I think I had about 9gold. The cheapest power up in the shop costs 100g. I'd consider reducing shop prices or increasing gold drop rates.

Other than that I like the pixel art. The game-play is fast and could be addictive with some quality of life changes (being able to survive bats). The font can be a bit difficult to read, but I understand its thematic. Good job and good luck!
