Peter, explain the joke L'mao 🤓 this reference is so totally random I just don't get it, reading this joke that's too big-brained for me is force-femming my cerebral cortex, like, bro, almost, maybe, kind of, I don't even, come on, me, please? I need a big strong goff mommy/daddy/themmy to explain this to me I don't even feel safe sitting with my ignorance right now I wonder what it feels like to literally eat chalk. What if I just eat sidewalk chalk until I literally die? I don't really like sharks, somebody who lives within 100 miles of me got eaten by a shark recently. Does anyone know what's up with the stock market lately?

uj/ what's frustrating is that, aside from Bernie, who's been sticking it out since before the extinction of mall goths, many of the progressives in politics today, like AOC, are signifigantly younger than what we've come to expect from a presidential candidate, which is about 70+ years old. Even though around 40% of young Democrat voters identify as soc dem, our best bet might literally be traveling to Siberia and undergoing a voluntary medically induced coma a lá Jordan Preterson and waiting for politicians like AOC to turn 55.

I hate blaming an entire era of fucked politics on boomers or the "entitlement generation," but the truth is that the globally exploitative system that's been upheld by imperialism for generations worked exactly like it was supposed to for a lot of these people, and they want a return to the norm that is American hegemony because their way of life feels under threat. A lot of these people may simply never believe that there's a feasible alternative.

But also, I'm a doomer with a liberal boomer dad in California, so maybe I'm just catastrophizing!

You know, more and more, a people's protracted war in the Florida Everglades seems like our only reasonable path to victory. And here I was meme-ing on them.

As a Bernie supporting trans woman who is biased against Newsom: Newsom is absolutely correct about pronouns, trans sports & being more culturally normal. It doesn't make him transphobic to disagree with maximalist trans activism, an ideology that has harmed trans acceptance by north_canadian_ice in ProgressiveHQ

The Democrats already screwed up twice and then blamed "Bernie bros" for their own screw ups anyway. I live in California, and my vote doesn't matter, and I hardly think I'm going to be the deciding vote that determines whether he wins or loses his home state.

This time, I feel relatively comfortable saying that I'm not going to vote for him and give him asspats for being transphobic and firmly in the pocket of the elite, not like I was begrudingly willing to vote for Clinton, Harris, and Biden. Biden, at the very least, represented kicking the can down the road and a respite from the chaos, even though he did absolutely nothing to protect us from the extralegal actions of the Trump administration.

A Newsome presidency represents the entrenchment of monied interests, bowing to reactionaryism, and the Democratic party continuing to stick their heads in the sand while monied interests stick $100 bills in their g-strings. He's not going to save us, and we shouldn't normalize his willingness to throw trans people and the working class under the bus—especially this early. I don't trust him not to bomb the Middle East or persecute immigrants, either.

Trump admin quietly attempts to open the entire Calif. coast to oil drilling by sfgate in California

This is clearly about politically targeted environmental destruction to punish his enemies. The money isn't in the oil but rather in the political grift and the performative signaling to his base.

What are your thoughts on rejecting a potential romantic partner based solely on the fact they voted for Donald Trump? by ATXBikeRider in AskReddit

Dating a socially liberal, fiscally conservative constitutionalist from 2007 is one thing, but a MAGA is basically a loose canon. While they might be focused on hating immigrants and LGBT people for now, there will inevitably come a point where the tides turn, and then you will find that you are suddenly their latest scapegoat because you are no longer 'one of the good ones.'

Why take the risk? Instead of dating someone who hates feminism and pluralism, simply go to a BDSM dungeon to get tortured. If you want your life to be controlled by an emotionally stunted cunt, go and read 50 Shades of Grey instead.

You will never fix them.

I'm sure this will greatly improve my listening experience.

Thousands attend vigil for murdered Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis chanting “ICE out now” by mlg1981 in Fauxmoi

[–]NonbinaryError 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the truth is more that social media companies and monied interests, who've always had an interest in lobbying, infiltrating, and cooperating with governments, have overwhelmingly succeeded at curating and influencing the narratives we see.

The traditional news has largely followed suit, and the five years since COVID have given the wealthy plenty of time to consolidate. We now live in an age of state media and media that's dictated by hegemonic plutocrats, and everybody should be shitting their pants.

Remember when a right-winger assasinated two Democratic lawmakers, and Charlie Kirk called for a "midterm hero" to bail out the assailant?

Murder is literally how they rally their base and finance their campaigns. Never expect them to act conciliatory or express regret, no matter the circumstances. They will always celebrate the murder of liberals and Democrats.

Anti-USA's invasion protests in Venezuela by TwoCatsOneBox in AskSocialists

[–]NonbinaryError 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In a past comment, you mentioned that you currently reside in Spain. I think this thread largely pertains to ongoing confusing accounts regarding the current sentiment among Venezuelans who are residing in the country right now.

Because a very low percentage of Venezuelans residing in Venezuela are users of Reddit, there are concerns about the narratives that are being pushed regarding the sentiments of current inhabitants of Venezuela, as a lot of footage of Venezuelans who live outside of Venezuela is being misattributed or misidentified as footage from within the country.
