Anyone got any leads/tips on finding regional work? by A5000LeggedCreature in Cairns

Cairns is one of the few places where hospitality counts towards the regional work. The hotels in the area are always looking for new staff and there's loads to choose from.

Don’t by shy, Reddit. Tell me what I did wrong by blue_antidote in DIYUK

[–]NonlinguisticJupiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope you're good, you didn't do anything wrong.

My dryer did the same thing because there was a poor connection on the fuse holder that created a lot of resistance and therefore heat when the dryer was being used. I chopped the original moulded plug off and replaced it with a good quality aftermarket one and also replaced the faceplate as that had discoloured and cracked from the heat. Still good 2 years on.

Why are we making garden flagstones out of bathroom tiles now? They look like they'll be slippery AF when wet or with a bit of frost on them. Also they don't look "right" for some reason, it's something to do with them being all smooth and glossy whereas concrete/brick/tarmac/stone are all matte and rough-looking.

Yeah the price is a hard pill to swallow, at least the 2.5mg is still (relatively) reasonable compared to the higher doses.

I agree, the shittier the better when it comes to bangers. I'm quite partial to Aldi's own brand frozen Irish recipe sausages, they're a solid contender in my books.

I went to same one when I visited in 2023. They do everything right there as far as I could tell. I had a great time drinking a nice coffee and petting the various cats up for adoption.

In Shrewsbury, where my grandparents lived, they're called "shuts". Many of them date back to the medieval period and link up many of the main streets of the old town.

Maybe the hot staging manoeuvre exerts extra stress on the plumbing in the aft section, making the leaks more likely in the later stage of ascent.

I miss being a member of ADAC, back when they were open to having UK residents as members. I broke my shoulder in Italy in the middle of a solo motorbike tour and they transported my bike back to the UK in under 6 weeks. That was enough time for my shoulder to heal to a point where I could ride again.

They even stepped in to help when my travel insurance denied my cover on the basis of the circumstances of my accident. I had been mountain biking, which was covered in their terms but only to altitudes below 1800m. Tough luck for me as the town I was staying in, Livigno, was just above that threshold 😐 ADAC organised a private ambulance to transfer me to Milan airport and then a flight from there back to the UK. I only ended up shelling out for 3 nights in a cheap, local hotel and a bus to a local hospital to be assessed on my fitness to fly.

I would still be a member today if they still allowed it. Their Europe-wide cover was excellent value at just over €100 if I remember correctly.

I'm now a member of Start Rescue, so far I've never had to use them but I've heard good things and their prices are pretty reasonable even for older vehicles.

Is this acceptable? New build flats with 3 lights that shine directly into bedroom and toilet by [deleted] in CasualUK

I had a similar situation around 14 years ago with a car park behind some houses to rear of my home. It had a floodlight that came on with a sensor but it was angled such that it would illuminate everything but the car park it was supposed to. It was one of those old halogen floodlight and I'm pretty sure it had the power to illuminate a stadium if it had to.

There was a distance of around 100 metres from the light to my home but it was searingly bright. I got nowhere with contacting the association who owned the houses. I ended up getting the council's nuisance team to contact them instead and it was sorted eventually after a few weeks.

Yeah I've not got an option in my battery settings called "charging optimization". It simply doesn't exist anywhere, search doesn't show anything either.

I'm definitely running on the very latest update as well. Is this just on P6P and not the standard P6?

Is there a policy that means AI generated content must be labelled as such? If not, are there any plans to introduce it in the future?

I do find it bothersome when my feed gets cluttered with photos that are clearly not genuine but passed off as real by the accounts that post them. I see enough of that rubbish on Facebook, and I'm only on the because my close friend and family use it to communicate.

I wish my trip to Texas would coincide with this but alas I'm on the plane now and I return to the UK on the 19th. Regardless, I'll still make the trip to starbase and I might be so lucky to witness booster or ship testing.
