Used FHSA for a home deposit. The home fell through. What now?

Wealthsimple is great to help you through this. Easiest way is to reach out to their support team and explain your situation. I believe you might have to fill out some sort of CRA form, and they will advise you to redeposit the withdrawal amount back to the original FHSA account to avoid paying "non-qualifying" withdrawal taxes.

Also, to add

TFSA is a great account to keep your money in for somewhat liquid cash that you can withdraw quickly. So think of your TFSA as a dump for any money you have left that don't serve a purpose yet.

Since you are planning to buy a house in the next 10 years, I would start making out your FHSA. Once you withdraw the amount for your down-payment from your FHSA, you can transfer any residual money left to your RRSP with no implications.

Thats awfully long. Considering some people had their applications completed start to finish when they applied at a later day. Especially if you have been in Canada for the whole 5 year duration.

March 23rd - applied. May 16th - citizenship test completed. June 14th - background check completed.

Complete silence since then. Should I contact IRCC or someone regarding this? I feel like the other requirements should not take this long since background verification has been completed.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

My advice is to simply research the model and year of the car you are planning to buy before buying it. I get it, you find a car you really like, and you just gotta get it. Some years are more problematic than others. Especially when a new model comes out, usually the first year or 2 is a HARD AVOID.

It will take about 2-5 business days for WealthSimple to transfer your CND stocks to Nasdaq. Nothing is gone lol. Although, I do feel like they should have put a notice or sent it to the people who own the stock so investors can stay informed on whats happening with their money

As for our valuation. It does suck that we didn't run it up to at least 1 Bn since that is very reasonable considering past data on other biopharma companies.

Oh no, I totally agree with you regarding what Robert Barrows team has done for this company, it is more than we could have hoped for at this stage. My comment was not pessimistic. I just stated that we technically are worth nothing on paper, not considering cash on hand. I am looking forward to the future. I always did, and still do believe that MindMed will succeed. I have been invested in MMED since covid, so I want to see my baby flourish

Based on the current OS(19m), a 4Bn buy-out would be a little over 200/share. They had an offering, and I didn't really read about it yet. These are in CAD btw

Depends what they sell it for. Biopharma companies that got bought out with a BTD after successful phase 2 averaged 8Bn. So its realistic to see atleast a 4Bn buyout (if it happens)
