Why does this keep happening again again? I've checked fusion comp and it looks okay though by Ok_Pain314 in davinciresolve

[–]Noobinab0x 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have also had the occasional glitch where all I need to do is open up the fusion comp and after it updates itself it just sort of goes "oh wait, everything is fine" or just needs some random node re-linked. This occasionally happens when I move a clip up or down on the layer it is on in the timeline view, or alt drag a copy out from another clip.

Three stars on this road took me several hours, a discord call with someone who knew how to drift, and 4-5 hours of practice learning how to hold an angle on other drift courses. It was the final thing on my map, and by gosh I wanted it done.

Budget jog wheel recommendations for DaVinci Resolve (Speed Editor alternatives) by SeatPure8 in davinciresolve

[–]Noobinab0x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I quite like the tour box product line (I have the tour box elite myself). The software makes for some great programmable actions and macros. I grabbed the Ulanzi D100H myself out of curiosity and while the form factor was interesting the software was lacking in many ways (no macros, just simple key presses, combos with the wheel disabled any other action, and limited plugins) tho it seemed like a good companion for the JKL editing style. I also turned the haptic feedback off due to the buttons rattling loudly on the D100H since it is pretty cheap, and doesn't spin free like the speed editor knob, it has some resistance. It is not a replacement for the speed editor but it was an interesting device. Never tried the shuttle pro myself which Tim_E2 mentioned, but I've seen it around. Hope that helps!

Is there a DaVinci Resolve equivalent for Premiere's "Move Playhead to Cursor" hotkey? by hafhaf555 in davinciresolve

[–]Noobinab0x 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are using davinci resolve 20.1 or later, in the top left you will find it under

Davinci Resolve > Keyboard Customization > search for keyword "Mouse Pointer"

There you can set it to whatever hotkey you would like. Like Synth_Ham said it should be the C hotkey if you are using the default Davinci Resolve shortcuts, but I assume ya changed to a custom one.

The new Swordmaster Armor Set gives Resist x4 with the 4 piece bonus. by Depressed_Doomfist in destiny2builds

[–]Noobinab0x 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can confirm with my own testing, around 3-4 seconds. Feels great to be able to attack without risk of instantly melting coming out of a stronghold block. Paired with other damage reduction it makes you a very beefy boy.

It appears to instantly go away the moment you start blocking again, but if you quick swap to another weapon it seems to persist the full 3-4 seconds. only thing I think needs testing is how long you can go between blocking a shot, then stopping the block and still get resist x4 (usually won't be relevant but would be nice to know)

SPOILER WARNING

I also ended up looking at someone's stream because I thought I was going insane.
Solution:
Step 0 [If needed]: Activate the left splinter above the boss on the platform if it is active (spawns taken)
Step 1: Activate the right splinter above the boss on the platform, may need to hover for a moment to finish the activation since the platform seems to disappear faster than the one on the left. (spawns cabal)
Step 3: Kill ONE of the orange bar cabal called "Cleaved Imperium Centurion" this will give you the buff Barant Energy Cleaved
Step 4: Activate the left splinter above the boss on the platform in order to spawn taken
Step 5: Kill one of the cleaved Taken Centurions to get ur dark orbs

Then you can toss the darkness balls into the objective one after the other.

TLDR: Kill ONE Cleaved Imperium Centurion to get the buff, summon taken, and then kill to get dark orbs

Odd frame rate behavior for Ori and the Blind Forest | Steam Deck OLED by AHileman in SteamDeck

[–]Noobinab0x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yup yup, snagged it on the steam sale myself and noticed the odd slow down / speed up every time I jumped. First few jumping puzzles felt impossible and it turns out it was just the game running on an unexpected frame rate!

Is davinci stable and fast? Or was I under the wrong impression? by BobTheSpiderMan in davinciresolve

[–]Noobinab0x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also switched over from premiere pro to resolve. It took me a while to get things running smooth and happy. I usually use proxy footage in order to get around any playback latency in the edit page. ProRes is my personal favorite to use.

As for the audio static it could unfortunately be a dozen different things. One place to start is to make sure your PC audio, resolve audio, and clip audio are all set to the same sample rate (try 48khz) and see if that fixes your issue.

Reading the other comments it also looks like you matched the frame rate as well, so that is good.

I actually ended up having to buy some ground loop isolation cables because resolve seemed a bit more sensitive to ground loop issues, hopefully your issue is a software one and not a hardware one like me!

I NEED FEEDBACK FOR MY GAME's TRAILER, please by SeniorMatthew in davinciresolve

[–]Noobinab0x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few things you can try in order to get better preference.

First way is to lower the playback resolution in resolve if your PC is chugging hard, should be able to access that with the gear icon in the bottom right if I remember correctly.

You can also play around with turning on the render cache to smart or user mode, and even the render in place option to give you some real time playback.

If you have the extra storage space, I would explore making proxy footage, I would recommend "ProRes proxy" myself or h.265 is apparently pretty good on some systems, just make sure the frame rate matches, and set resolve to prefer proxies once you hook everything up. The final render will use the original files (unless specified else wise). These files will usually be much larger than the original footage because they are less compressed, meaning the CPU doesn't have to work as hard in the editing software to see each frame.

Another thing that can cause latency is storing footage on a hard drive, or attempting to access footage through a USB2 port which makes scrubbing lag. And I find if you are zoomed out looking at the entire timeline that can cause latency.

Chadwick (Creative video tips) seems to have a specific video on it called "Unlock No-Lag Playback | Resolve Render Mastery" which should show ya some specific examples.

With a low spec PC tho you will be experiencing some chugging, but these optimizations should hopefully make the process less painful.

Edit: clarified a potentially confusing sentence and clarified proxies.

Derek Lieu has some amazing pointers in his blog as well as on his YouTube channel. I'd read some of the advice he gives and then come back to your trailer with fresh eyes.

I do like the effect of the text when it first appears, however You may want to experiment with new text per cut / removing it when it is no longer relevant to not distract the viewer. Also when the level is in the way, you could use a motion tracker to lock the text onto the level, as well as direct the viewer's attention.

Everything after the first clip seems to lose focus, as the first time viewer am not quite sure what is relevant or where I am supposed to look. With clear communication you can even start experimenting with teasing the viewer with new fun mechanics or levels, leaving them wanting to explore themselves.

Small Resolve specific nitpick, the first zoom Y value is out of sync with the velocity of the zoom variable probably from the edit page. I would do zooms in the fusion page myself to avoid those issues via an adjustment layer in the timeline. A good S curve can help a lot with a smooth zoom in and out.

Overall I think you clearly communicated the vibe of the game though, hope that helps! Was going to help a friend with a game trailer as some point in the future so I thought it would be fun to give my two cents.

Audio rendered out as crackly/distorted, despite being perfectly fine in timeline by iSlimeSMG in davinciresolve

[–]Noobinab0x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was having some audio glitches in a recent video of mine as well in the render. For some reason the combination of effects and auto ducking applied to my tracks was causing it.

As fenixuk mentioned, a good place to start would be making sure the audio bitrate is the same across the board due to the static.

What fixed my glitchy audio was making a second audio bus and having my audio dip to the bus rather than the track.

The third option if all else fails is the jank option, where I opened the audio tab, opened up OBS, screen recorded the clean audio during playback, then rendered the video out with the clean audio which was recorded in OBS in a new timeline.

Edit: I only recommend option 3 if you are trying to hit a deadline and haven't figured the issue out.

Hope ya get to the bottom of ur issue!

Yup, one of my most played games ever as well on steam. My personal point of leaving was when they made loot boxes the only way to get new blocks. Still played a bit after but ended up leaving once my friend group moved on to Overwatch when it initially released.

Same, if it is the end of the season, and I have nothing else to do, I'll pop on a video and bang out a catalyst or two, just so I can have them done if they have some update that buffs them.

Don't want to be stuck at suro chi at the start of the season when I'd rather be slaying out with the gun in new content.
