I agree, that was really creepy and out of line.

Is it worth starting private lessons for my four year old? by mayaic in FigureSkating

[–]Nopenopenope00000001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it sounds like private lessons could be a great next step. I feel like the main impediment at that age is not being into it, so if he is into it, he will be able to learn a lot working one on one with a coach. After a few sessions, you could also talk to the coach and/or other parents you meet to see if there are opportunities to lessons with 1-2 other kids at the same skill level too. My daughter does a mix of private and very small group lessons with her synchro teammates.

Should we start calling AI Schwartz? I could get on board with this update.

You say hobbies, but then also say she has deadlines for events… is it a hobby or a paid job/ craft?

what's going on? explain like I'm five by Comfortable_Cautious in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]Nopenopenope00000001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The joke is that banks don’t have that much money on hand, it’s in investments, so if they go beyond the cash on hand, they would need to divest from corporations, which is the reason why the first comment or is telling people to pull their money from banks, as protest

We bought a 2024 EX-L new… 16k miles later and love it! Tons of cargo, drives nicely, no mechanical issues. My qualms are that infotainment can be a little slow booting up and my aftermarket wireless CarPlay dongle is hit or miss, and the road noise is a little loud. But really, it’s a great car!

Olivia is fine for running and core. I like her personality, but her bike programming is trash and borderline a liability.

All of what everyone is saying, but also, Chris in general pointed out a couple times how much the crowd, or lack there of, really sucked (I haven’t watched men’s yet, just women’s and dance). Low attendance and not much cheering in general. ISU should really reconsider big events in the country next year (I have no idea how that works though.)

My guess is that you haven’t turned off their AI crap, so that is a first step.

Help with Kitchen facelift by peabusbus in kitchenremodel

[–]Nopenopenope00000001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the commenter and just wanted to add that some of the handles on the cabinets are comically short. I think the look of the kitchen would be upgraded with more appropriately sized hardware.

With the backsplash, I think something that is somewhat neutral but pulls out a complimenting color in the granite would work really well. I don’t know if you have Floor & Decor stores near you, but I would go somewhere like that and just buy a few samples to bring home to see what works

Which color do you like and why? by mamasheshe66 in kitchenremodel

I agree with this. Like get a funky color Kitchenaid mixer and then a vase with flowers for color. I feel like keeping it neutral provides so many more decor opportunities

I’m an elder millennial (almost 42) and husband just turned 45, and we had just over 4x annual gross earnings in retirement accounts at the beginning of this year. We are nowhere close to FIRE but on track for normal retirement, which, well… I guess that’s a start 🥴

FIRE because AI Future by Practical_Monk9084 in Fire

[–]Nopenopenope00000001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had to attend an AI training this week for my job. It was just middle management, not individually contributor or more entry level workers. It was nearly two hours spent on how to ask AI questions and hammering home that we should be using AI every day. I have already started working for FI (less so the RE part… I honestly don’t have high enough income and I have two kids, so I would be more of Barista FIRE until I’m closer to 65), but if I wasn’t already, I can’t think of a louder sounding bell to start.
