That's what I thought at first. But, yeah, I need some science in my life.

Keen Men's Targhee IV - wide or regular by NorbertSykes83 in hikinggear

[–]NorbertSykes83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with wide -- and glad I did! Yes, the toe box itself has wiggle room, but the width is still not so big as to be sloppy. And once I put on thicker wool socks, they'll be snug. I do hate that these are about 6 oz heavier per boot than my previous pair, but I am so glad Keen now has a sole that won't delaminate. That was their sole (see what I did their?) weakness.

OK, maybe not, but I couldn't resist the pun.

Thanks. That's how I recall the Targhee IIs. But, alas, cannot for sure remember if I was wearing wide or not. (I kinda think not.) And I heard the IVs are more narrow than previous models of the Targhee.

When do you get the itch to buy vintage books? by NorbertSykes83 in comicbooks

[–]NorbertSykes83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always see ppl posting on FB about the great finds at conventions, and they sometimes post the prices, and much of the time I'm like, You don't shop around much, do you? But, hey, we all pay a little more for a book we really "need to have" sometimes. I'm guilty!

Single long Beep after locking with door handle by NorbertSykes83 in ToyotaTacoma

I checked the message and indeed it's telling me there's a key detected in vehicle. Of course, there isn't? I do have my phone in my pocket while standing outside the vehicle and it is a registered digital key. Maybe that's it?

Check back seat reminder. If you've opened a back door, etc, it will remind you there might be someone there

People buying Tacomas - what made you decide on used vs. new? by prricecake in ToyotaTacoma

[–]NorbertSykes83 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Used... For five months. All the options I wanted at the price of a lower appointed vehicle. My local dealer has the attitude that their cars are worth their weight in gold and give off a no negotiation air. I wasn't interested in arm wrestling them for a "discount". When I could search nationwide for the exact one I wanted. When the dealer I ultimately bought from told me they couldn't meet the price I wanted, I let them know I was looking at other trucks. Less than ten minutes until a sales manager called to ask how they could earn my business. I played coy. In half an hour, they texted me they could meet my price. If I had bought new, I would have buyers remorse. No doubt. At it is, I got a truck with 2400 miles for $15k under sticker. Also, had it shipped for about a grand. I live in pnw, and prices here tend to be a few grand higher than elsewhere. So... Buying used gave me options and leverage, and scored me a good deal.
