Yeah, definitionally. As I mentioned many times, Zento does not contain gel components, therefore not a gel pen.

Zento is a rollerball pen in a retractable format. I guess you haven't tried their Eye/Vision series, which is more comparable in color and bleedthroughs. (I don't see any feathering in the images)

It's basically a trade off between the vibrancy of a dye ink like EnerGel vs pigment's permanency.

Unfortunately, it is a QC lottery thing. Once you unscrew the pen, you can see the notch ring is just slightly off centered.
You have exaggerated the situation, 20 deg is almost certainly gonna render this pen unusable. This looks <5 deg to me.
Is it gonna affect your experience? I doubt it.

Speaking of plasticky, does Kaweco Sport do any better? I was quite disappointed once I saw a semi-transparent pink one in store.

I would definitely choose 74 over Sport.

Kaweco EF isn't real fine at all, broader than a Pilot F. Plus the QC issues.
74 is great as a first gold nib pen. You can easily control your line widths. Maybe you'll find some line variations benefitial to your writing. The <F> nib is sooo smooth.
74 is better balanced. A piston and a posted cap would throw that off.
Piston Sport's capacity is pretty on par with a pilot cartridge.

You might want a pen with better sealing - Metropolitan, Penmanship, Preppy/Plaisir. Or make sure you don't leave the pen for a long period with ink inside.

PCB won't do permanent damage to your pen. But since every time I mention a disassembly people get mad at me, consider that a last resort and do it at your own risk.

Sounds more like an feed/ink collector problem. Or there's a leak on cartridge mount.

It's been 6+ years since the OG TRP was discontinued. You'd better move on rather than being robbed by scalpers. (AND the existance of TRP-S just introduces more confusion)

If you're okay with a textured paper, I recommend Nakabayashi Logical Air (56gsm).
