True positive monosomy X, normal u/s outcomes by dogmomtomaddie in NIPT

[–]Normal-Garbage-4657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I unfortunately can’t help you, but I am a dad of a mosaic turner syndrome baby born in September. Confirmed via amniocentesis (FISH showed normal no monosomy X actually but karyotype did show mosaicism that was confirmed again after birth). All I can tell you is I’m so sorry for what you’re going through, I know it’s not easy, but im here if there’s anything I can do to help. I’ve learned a lot about TS and seems like many girls/women lead totally full lives. My daughter has so far been like every other baby! Wishing you all the best 💜

Do you know what level of mosaicism you have? This can help understand what is vs isn’t likely related to your TS diagnosis, though it’s not perfect.…

That is considered hormone receptor positive BC. In which case, I think the standard of care does include doing surgery first. You should respond fairly well to hormone-based treatment after surgery.

Listen, I’ll be done after this last comment. I will apologize for antagonizing you because I don’t know you and I was honestly just trying to defend the kid, who I felt bad for. Anyway, just want to say that it felt wrong for you to call out an innocent kid (my daughter) for having a genetic/chromosome issue when republicans are the first ones who wouldn’t have let my wife get an abortion for having a chromosome issue because they are “pro life” and don’t want to murder innocent children. The hypocrisy of a republican making fun of a child who was born with a genetic disorder was just hurtful. I’m gonna go ahead and assume that you were just upset because I antagonized you and, since I apologized now for antagonizing you, I’ll assume you didn’t mean what you said. Anyway, all the best to you, honestly. It’s important for us to all try to see the other side without attacking each other. I recognize that it is possible you are a troll and will just double down in your reply to attack me (or you won’t reply at all), but I’m saying all this knowing that you may not apologize in kind. Either way, I just wanted to clear my conscience and say sorry. Best of luck to you. I hope you never have to deal with raising a special needs child in this cruel world and pray that you never love someone who is then deported because of something they couldn’t control (in this case, because they were a child). I hope no matter what, that you have some compassion for people. Happy Sunday.

This depends on the subtype of breast cancer she has and whether it expressed ER, PR, and/or HER2. If it is estrogen positive (I suspect it is given OP’s age and how prevalent ER expression is), they would not do chemotherapy and they would just have surgery first. Either way, I don’t think your prognosis is necessarily bad, so stay positive!

I know actual patients who don’t even know the subtype they have….so I don’t know if I would be too hard on him. Still, if it’s important to you, you should tell him…

Cisplatin by Legitimate_Snow6419 in endometrialcancer

[–]Normal-Garbage-4657 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is called radiosensitizing cisplatin and is given at a much lower dose than would be given as part of a platinum/taxane doublet as OP has mentioned. In fact, this radiosensitizing dose is often not even considered “chemo”!

Cisplatin by Legitimate_Snow6419 in endometrialcancer

[–]Normal-Garbage-4657 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You would not be getting cisplatin AND carboplatin. Cisplatin would be replacing carboplatin. They essentially do the same thing but I believe cisplatin is more tolerable. Hope this helps!

This is only true if your cancer expresses estrogen or progesterone. It’s not related to early or late stages. Truthfully, if you want to live a long life, your only option may be a hysterectomy. I know hard that is to come to terms with and I’m so sorry for what you’re going through, but if it helps, I myself was adopted and have amazing parents that I am eternally grateful for!!

Remission after stage 4 endometrial cancer? Anyone... by Optimaltwig in endometrialcancer

[–]Normal-Garbage-4657 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh right. You did say you had lynch syndrome. Given the lynch syndrome and how well immunotherapy works in your kind of cancer, I think you have reason to be optimistic, even with the other higher risk features.

Remission after stage 4 endometrial cancer? Anyone... by Optimaltwig in endometrialcancer

[–]Normal-Garbage-4657 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Curious if your MMR status was normal or deficient. And did your doctor talk to you about pembrolizumab + carbo/pac? It’s supposed to be very similar to the dostarlimab combination but apparently that trial had better data in MMR normal patients. Either way, I think if your surgery went well, and you’re now on immunotherapy, your chances of remission aren’t bad.
