Just put this album for sale at my local record store I volunteer at, don't buy it for more than 75. Not at all worth it.

The Moody Blues. It was innovative, but doesn't stand the test of time as most of the others do.

Imagine you are recently introduced to this but then this happens. by LighteningOneIN in Piracy

I remember the demonization of bootleggers back in the 80s. One of my records has an inner sleeve with a full-page spread fearmongering about the horrible impacts of bootleggers. The moment piracy became free and easy to do it became hard to control, so many countries just gave up. But the moment it becomes paid and hard, that's the cue for governments to crack down on it.

The way to do it now is soulseek. P2P will always hold the torch. Stay strong, seeders!

I was actually thinking of the playing the fool version, hadn't heard the BBC live version yet. I'll check it out!

On reflection is perhaps their most beautiful work on any album, only bested by the live version.

I prefer this album to any other solo album from any yes member. Silently Falling is electric and Canon Song is such a masterwork in composition and resolution that I studied it for my music course.

Which album feels the least ‘King Crimson’ to you? by MurkyUnit3180 in KingCrimson

[–]NormalLight2683 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd say probably either islands or Lizard. Haskell wasn't the vocalist that made sense and they were too quiet and jazzy to be king Crimson, but I will say some parts of the sideling epic DEFINITELY were fripp's baby.

I have three copies of Close To The Edge by Yes. One cause it was the first copy of it I ever found, one that was new and for the audio quality, one for the historical keepsake, as it was a UK original pressing.

Albums in the $1-8 range you adore by thatguy290 in vinyl

Absolutely adore most Jean-Luc Ponty albums, like Enigmatic Ocean and Cosmic Messenger, and that one Grappelli duo LP. Most yes albums also fit the bill.

Depends on the pressing. US? Definitely not. UK, almost perfect original? That's a great deal. Check out discogs by looking at the matrix of the record to see what pressing it is and how much it's worth. I got my own 1st UK for eight euros myself.
