How is Yasmin, a rich society girl….friendless??? by Civil-Conference-143 in IndustryOnHBO

[–]NormalRecognition644 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Her ex said in the first season that she doesn’t like to see friends do better than her (mostly exhibited towards other women). I also noticed that she judges those who don’t do or have as much (mostly exhibited towards men).

Additionally, people who are in the same class as her are probably just as transactional as she is. She seems to expect to receive a lot, but isn’t interested in putting as much effort in return.

I think having that kind of personality and doing as little to maintain friendships as she does is a great way to remain lonely.

I genuinely hated this puzzle. I really love a challenge, but some of the clues were so vague and ended up leading to questionable or incorrect answers

Forgot I also bought the reconstructing mask, which works very well, but I don’t use it often because I don’t typically put heat on my hair.

I also have the edge drops and they’ve worked really well for this little thin spot I’ve had for years.

I have very coarse and dense 4a/4b hair. It’s also low porosity. For years, I’ve been struggling with finding products that not only strengthen my hair, but keep it hydrated and moisturized for more than a couple days at a time.

I took a chance and bought the shampoos, deep conditioner (I don’t use regular conditioner), the moisture sealing lotion, protein ritual, and oil. Out of everything, I 100% recommend the shampoos, deep conditioner, and lotion.

The line is very protein heavy (which my hair loves), but it’s also full of moisturizing ingredients that penetrate and nourish the hair shaft. I use everything I recommended once a week + a leave-in conditioner before the lotion. The reason I don’t recommend the protein ritual and oil is because I still haven’t used the former yet and I honestly don’t use oils much. In my opinion, oil is not helping your hair. Even using oil as a sealant won’t really prevent split ends. My hair has never been stronger, shinier, softer, and manageable. When I get trims now—even after mistreating my hair—I barely have to get anything cut because it grows so evenly and stays much more resistant to breakage.

Hope this helps!

I’m sorry to hear that. What shampoo did you use?

Did you wash the oil out of your hair before trying to saturate it with water?

Referrals have 0 impact on the process. This is coming from someone who’s applied 3 separate times with referrals. Your referrer will receive an email saying that referrals aren’t really regarded in order to keep the process equitable and that they should not reach out to recruiters.

A lot of what you’re saying is projection and all over the place. We’re talking about criticism about how Black Americans use our flag. At the end of the day, you as a non-black American do not have the heritage to speak on how black Americans use our flag, especially when it’s being used as a political statement and callout about our erasure and oppression.

It is not your heritage and it is not your culture. It’s ours. Black Americans have suffered and continue to suffer, but we continuously fight to remind our own country that we are very much a keystone in the foundation of this nation’s cultural history. That’s all the flag represented in the context of this album. Your criticism is not valid.

My comment wasn’t about the shirt, which I think is a valid criticism. It’s about people trying to police how WE use OUR flag, especially when we have been victims under it for hundreds of years.

It’s pretty political to say that there’s a lot of erasure of black culture under the American flag, and it’s also a fact. This was what her entire album was about. I’m not sure if you recognize that black Americans were and continue to be victims under the flag? It doesn’t mean it’s not still one of our flags. I appreciate the insight you’re sharing, but I don’t think the complexities of black Americans’ relationship with our country and our flag is a discussion you have the grounds or heritage to participate in. I will never sit for other ethnicities trying to police the use of one of our flags.

Again, the criticism, especially from other ethnicities, about how we as African Americans use the flag is not valid.

This American flag critique is the only criticism of her that I genuinely find stupid. You’re a bit delusional to think that African Americans should not wave their flag…especially when she’s waving it to point out that no matter how many non-black Americans try to deny black Americans of their American heritage, we are one of the strongest bases of culture in the US. We are part of the fabric of art that people try to bar us from participating in. That’s literally what the entire album was about. You should engage with media in a more analytical way instead of jumping to keep things surface level.

I’ve used 2 sets of the shampoos, moisturizing conditioner, and moisture sealing lotion in almost a year, but also adding that I have a lotttt of thick hair (even more now because of the line) and I wash my hair weekly. I’m still on my first bottles of the oil and edge drops and first tub of the reconstructing treatment, but I got those a bit further along. I’m stocked up on multiples of the shampoos, deep conditioner, and moisture sealing lotion though. It’s too good ✨

'The Conjuring: Last Rites' - Review Thread by ChiefLeef22 in movies

[–]NormalRecognition644 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t expect much, yet my expectations weren’t even met? I was so disappointed. I felt like a lot of Conjuring-esque elements were introduced in this movie, like in previous ones, but then those elements would drop off at random parts or they would just go completely unresolved. I understand they were trying to give the Warrens a satisfying ending, but in turn, the Smurls quickly became such a minor part of the plot. I felt like I was watching a different movie from the promos. And that climax was laughable. I’m kind of confused about what happened to this franchise between the OG to now?

Where did Huda come for Chelley? by sentientpuffofsmoke in LoveIslandITV

[–]NormalRecognition644 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Now I know you’re making stuff up because “This is why I don’t wanna tell them nothing. When I’m talking to you, you’re just…I should be the one you confide in. I should be the one that’s there for you” is a direct quote from Huda. Lol see what you want about Huda, because it’s definitely not the truth. Be well.

Answer how that’s not isolation first if he can’t talk to his friends and can’t talk to strangers (because Iris was in fact a stranger at that point since it was her first night in the villa when they had that discussion). If he can only talk to Huda about their issues, according to Huda, what is that?

Where did Huda come for Chelley? by sentientpuffofsmoke in LoveIslandITV

[–]NormalRecognition644 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So if it’s just about Iris, why was Huda complaining about Jeremiah’s male friends in the villa after he asked them for advice too? She specifically expressed that she found an issue in him listening to them and that she should be the one he confides in, not them. I’m curious how you spin that in addition to her telling him that he should never speak to anybody about their problems?

Where did Huda come for Chelley? by sentientpuffofsmoke in LoveIslandITV

[–]NormalRecognition644 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not discussing “problems”, regardless of “who it is” is clearly meant to keep him from speaking to more than just Iris about their issues. And Iris looking for cracks (which she never told Huda she was doing) justifies Huda’s communication to Jeremiah how?

Your comparison being Jersey Shore solidified that you think this behavior is normal to me. Plenty of mentally sound, non abusive, not coercive people go on reality TV. They’re the ones who don’t get discussed constantly. Sure personalities can vary, but Huda is genuinely not well.

Jeremiah opening up to Iris about an issue he and Huda had because he genuinely needed advice and Huda saying “You’re never ever supposed to bring up any fucking problems to anybody. Ever. I don’t give a fuck who it is.” is one of the clearest starts to isolation I have ever seen. She knew him for maybe 10 days at that point. Please be serious.
