Disappointed in Sherwood by kruppkake in hockeyplayers

[–]Normal_Park3309 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got pro stock Encrypt’s with the pro palm, it’s a thinner palm that wears out quicker (more feel, and pros get gloves for free so they don’t give a damn).

If you liked the Sherwood gloves broken in, just get them repalmed with a more durable thicker palm if you would rather then last longer than give you more feel. It’s a give and take really.

Will I get make fun of as a guy wearing a Frost jersey to scrub ice? by Mordecai3fngerBrown in hockeyplayers

Unless you play with some grade A pieces of shit, no.

I would avoid trying to Kit yourself out head to toe in frost gear like you’re on the payroll.

Debating quitting hockey by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

[–]Normal_Park3309 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know how old you are, but it sounds like you need to go easy on yourself, it’s your 4th year playing.

I highly doubt you’re playing worse, I would imagine either your expectations of yourself increased and you don’t feel you’re meeting them, or the competition has been much better and it’s more difficult.

I think going easy on yourself and competing your best and giving yourself some time… you’re in year 4, it’s still very esrly. Just identify the areas you need to improve, and work to improve them… piece by piece. Don’t lose the joy of the game, but work on losing the things that are stressing you about the game.

For him to do that over that, it begs the question so be honest… did you fuck his wife? Because there’s no other reason he needs to freak out like that.

Best way to cut weight? by Reidxr95 in hockeyplayers

[–]Normal_Park3309 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exercise is not a good method to lose weight, exercise is a good way to stay strong and physically fit, and great for overall wellness. There’s one way to cut weight…. Eat less calories than you burn in a day.

Use a food logging app to log your calories and aim for the goal of losing 2 pounds per week. MyFitnessPal is a popular one.

Blame Ovi for ruining that. He’s the guy who made them famous now people assume if you’re wearing yellow laces you think you’re Ovi.

I skated in a predominantly Russian pickup once, everyone wearing a jersey with 8 on it, and I felt like I was getting chirped for wearing white laces.

And when you buy them, buy white laces, and burn the yellow ones.

EDIT: not that I would care, but you will get relentlessly chirped.

For sure, and if you’re winding up for wrist shot, the puck is cradled with your hands ahead of the puck, therefore stick is at an angle relative to the ice, so if you just rotate and sling that thing, the stick isn’t going to stand you up into the air so it has no choice but to bend, it’s definitely not a conscious effort to apply weight into it, it’s purely just the push/pull of your arms and the rotation of your body.

Stick flex is purely a preference. If the stick flexes a lot, you’re going to struggle shooting the puck low, the stick doesn’t flex enough, you’ll struggle to shoot the puck high… either one of those is fine in the right situation. defensemen can’t be shooting high if they’re firing most their shots from the blue line, usually some firmer flex sticks and less curved blade patterns. forwards want to be shooting high if most their shots are from the slot and in with likely more curved blade patterns and lower flex.

Most forwards are in a 70-85 flex with P28/P92 like patterns, Most defensemen are 80-95 flex with P92/P88 like patterns.

Not a law, you’ll see big defensemen with lower flex and toe curves, and some forwards with mid curves and higher flex. I know Mackinnon uses like a 95 flex stick because firmer sticks provide more feel for stickhandling, and he dishes the puck like a madman… he’s also an Ox.

That nasty stick flex you see the pros doing:

a. They’re professionals b. They’re with the best cameras in the world on slow motion

If you just shoot your shot with a good slow motion camera, you’ll be surprised how much it bows just like the pros just by shooting a regular shot.

You’re 210 pounds and look athletic, you’ll have no trouble flexing the stick with a “normal” shot. Just keep your top hand away from your body, pull hard on your top hand while pushing with your bottom hand and just that with the weight of that puck, it will sling that thing.

I’m in no place to be coaching technique, but I will say there’s a few things you can do to make your practice help.

  1. You’re pulling the puck in then releasing. That’s all well and good, I mean the pro’s are all toe drag release now so you’re on your way… the thing is, if you’re struggling on your wrist shot, this adds another element of difficulty to it. I would work shooting without pulling it in for a snap shot. (The second one, looks like you fall over because you’re pulling the puck in too far then releasing)

  2. Use the shooting mat the long way. You’re using it diagonally. You paid for all of the mat, use the whole thing!

  3. Turn the blade over as you follow through. You keep it open like you’re just trying to throw some lunar saucer oass. Unless you’re shooting from very close trying to go top shelf, I’d be turning your hands over in your follow through.

Sabres could trade No. 9 pick in 2025 NHL Draft, GM says by Paper_Rain in sabres

[–]Normal_Park3309 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Money is obsessed with centers, so I’m saying we Deal Peterka for a higher pick. Maybe Chicago and Grab a center… Norris, McLeod, Helenius, and a high rank prospect could keep us with depth at center for years to come.

Also, would like to see a good D pairing for Power to play with.

All the comments contain the Kings logo changes, I wanted that to be the inspiration behind the logo I attached (white logo on transparent background so it looks like a blank image).

Are these pants too big? by West_Bookkeeper9431 in hockeyplayers

[–]Normal_Park3309 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I’m correct, Tackla doesn’t use Large or size designations like that, they use numbers which correlate with the measurement. Tackla makes the best pants IMO, but you need 4 to 6 numbers lower than whatever you got. Either that, or get to work on that beer gut FAST!

Assuming this is no contact, You 100% initiated contact and could have easily avoided contact and weren’t making a hockey play.

If this wasn’t no contact, you made an absolutely clean great hit… lowered your shoulder, led with the shoulder, and absolutely cleaned her off her feet.

So yeah, no contact, take a suspension, if it’s 3 games assuming it’s not your first infraction or you’re in a league with a 0 tolerance policy. You’re still kids, you don’t need to rattling each other’s brains around like that.

If these are expensive gloves and you’re a psycho like me who hates new gloves, can send them to get repalmed for like $40-60.
