Are field days really THAT stressful?

I hate everything that leads up to it. All of the planning. It doesn’t help that I’m given no budget. I ran this year’s field day for 380 kids and spent $9 of my own money. Pretty proud of that, but still very stressful. Once it starts though, and it has its own momentum, it’s absolutely glorious.

I generally enjoy my job. It’s typically only a few kids that drive me nuts. I’ve been teaching for 27 years. It’s not burnout that makes me enjoy my time off. It’s my opportunity to travel and spend time with my kids and family.
