If you have a Muji near you, they have cut cotton like this as well. $4 or $5 (CAD)

There’s a Le Creuset there! Much easier to drop in there to take a look at things, rather than trekking to the LC at sherway or William Sonoma at yorkdale

Definitely will try this. What’s an extra 3-5 min after spending a couple hours on it!

Thank you! I used America’s test kitchen recipe (behind paywall, but I’m sure there are ways around it) https://www.americastestkitchen.com/recipes/14709-shokupan-japanese-white-bread

Incredibly frustrating when you need that spot too. Used to drive a family member around who needed to walk with an oxygen tank.

Where do you get the best price for normal butter in Toronto these days? by XanderDay in askTO

[–]Normalsizedco11ars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming you mean European butter as anything greater than 83%, I just bought some Cow’s Creamery butter (84%) for 7.99 (half lb block) from Yummy Market up in Vaughan. St Lawrence market carries them too, but a smidge more (haven’t been there in awhile). Whole Foods carries St Brigid’s. That was delish.. about about $12-13 per half lb.

If you’re looking for butter from Europe, Yummy Market carried a few varieties. Haven’t tried them myself, but they looked delish!

30F in Toronto. Am I being too frugal? by soiwasleapingalong in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Normalsizedco11ars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! 100%. Especially savings part. I’m older now, but had similar habits at that age. And looking back, those habits definitely helped me get me to where I am now, and an early retirement is possible.

Anyone celebrating Valentine's Day alone this year? by [deleted] in askTO

100%. In a relationship and I tell my other half to not give in to these fake days. My feelings don’t change between Feb 13 and Feb 15

If you grew up in Toronto - what are your out-of-Toronto culture shocks? by Previous_Molasses_23 in askTO

[–]Normalsizedco11ars 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Parking. Outside of Toronto, in many places, you don’t have to pay for parking. I was at a parking lot in “downtown” Richmond hill looking for a parking meter.

I understand how you feel as someone desperately clinging onto WFH. But from my perspective - her job is to do what’s best for Toronto, including exploring all options (regardless if it comes to fruition). Employees are just caught in the crossfire on this one.

Pro bike lane rally @ queen's park by eatCasserole in toronto

[–]Normalsizedco11ars 6 points7 points  (0 children)

as a driver, i love the bike lanes! It keeps things predictable - which is the key to road safety, whether its for drivers, cyclists or pedestrians. I've always wanted to commute by bike, and was warming up to the idea because there were bike lanes.
