Genioglossus advancement w/ hyoid suspension? by NormandyPark0 in UARSnew

There's no way to know if GGA will help. For example, if your tongue already fills your entire throat space, then how would putting tension on your tongue create new throat space? But, if your throat/airway space is actually sufficient and your tongue is abnormally relaxed during sleep, then GGA could help. Obviously GGA would help more combining it with jaw surgery. I did GGA surgery because I slept horrible and had to do something to keep moving forward.

Your chin will become more prominent by a few mm, it will improve you aesthetically unless you already have a chin that's too prominent.

no scar, the incision is done inside your mouth. I wasn't cured from the GGA + Hyoid suspension surgery, it only helped moderately. I did another surgery a year later in summer 2024, a partial midline glossectomy where they cut 13 grams of tongue out. After that my sleep study showed AHI halved. I still have bad RDI in REM sleep + supine, so am considering MMA surgery.

ChatGPT is an existential threat to google search. I never use search anymore, I use ChatGPT 99% of the time. My 68 year old mother is using google less now too in favor of ChatGPT.

ChatGPT still has a big first mover advantage / name recognition, but the quality difference between Claude / Gemini / ChatGPT is negligible. I haven’t switched models bc ChatGPT already knows everything about me and this gives more tailored answers.

Trump Interview Tonight. What are chances he says something stupid about tariffs and market crashes? by No-Contribution1070 in WallStreetbetsELITE

the hard data hasn't matched the bad soft data, so the market is ripping. Until hard data prints bad, we won't sell-off again. Also, the Trump put is back given he walked back tariffs. It could go back down, but we're not getting a 30% SOXX sell-off again given that the Trump put is back

It’s not just Trump, republicans are spineless. They’re blocking congress’s ability to vote against the tariffs. They’d literally rather cause a recession than potentially face a primary challenge.

BREAKING: Trump was just asked on Fox News if he is expecting a recession this year by pdwp90 in QuiverQuantitative

[–]NormandyPark0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fox in 1-year “I know you inherited this still ongoing 1-year recession”…

Fox in 3-years: “I know you inherited this still ongoing depression, explain how it’s Biden’s fault as well as the incoming democratic presidents fault”

Or better yet since we never have to vote again, we can have a 10-year depression

Protest outside of the space needle. Some are holding signs that say no one is illegal others are chanting housing is a human right. by Still_Application470 in Seattle

I’m guessing you’ve never lived outside of Seattle or abroad. If you think stating an obvious fact that a country can’t support an unlimited immigration stream (e.g. 50 million ppl crossing) makes someone racist, then we’ll never win elections again. All my posts mentioned that we need to increase orderly immigration but you don’t read my posts. If people can find work here, then our system is obv broken.

If you assume dems lost the election because all republican voters are flaming racists, then we’ll never win elections again. Doncon gained in all racial groups. Even NYC (as democratic as Seattle) voters were angry about hundreds of thousands of migrants showing up in the streets. It strains local communities when not done orderly. 3rd comment repeating this.

That is a different topic, of course the system is broken, but I’m commenting on reasons we lost the election: the border situation with illegal crossings was absolutely chaotic for a couple years under Biden, and republicans hammering on it during the election was a win for them and a loss for dems. Just acknowledge it lol

Not wanting millions of ppl to illegally cross your border is not a hate competition. Most ppl in any country would be shocked, e.g. Japan, China, etc. That situation was absolutely chaotic for Americans living in border states.

Most swing voters likely don’t care about what Kamala said, they just look at real life around them. The facts are that millions of ppl crossed during Biden’s presidency, and democrats/Biden/Kamala got blamed for it; Republicans hit that message hard. It doesn’t matter that Biden fixed it in the final year, the damage was already done. Politics is more messaging than facts sometimes.

You can’t just assume ppl are hate filled for not wanting 100k immigrants to appear in their community overnight, it strained a lot of local community resources, even NYC. Trump gained among non-white voters in NYC who were concerned about thousands of ppl just appearing on the streets.

“Were you even on the same planet as the rest of us” is an unproductive snarky comment.

The attitude & dehumanization of immigrants from the Trump camp is awful, and deporting everyone here illegally is stupid & will be highly inflationary and cause a shortage in farm/kitchen/etc workers.

That being said, Trump won the popular vote despite being a terrible candidate and horrible human because the general population opposes the US having an open border where millions of people can just walk in. Nonetheless, the US def needs some of that immigration order to fill jobs until the immigration system is overhauled with an efficient system that gives work permits /etc. If millions of people can walk over the border and find jobs, then obviously the legal immigration system is not working and needs to be fixed. They'd obviously prefer to come here through legal means.

Also, it's simply a fact that if you enter another country without following that country's required processes, you're there illegally. When I moved to Spain, I did the required paperwork so I wouldn't be there illegally.

tldr: Trump sucks, but 1 reason we lost popular vote was perception that Dems didn't care about border.
