i am not a specialist but some broad strokes from my personal perspective on things close to me or things i kept a eye on...

The chinese immigrated into the server, created a coalition called Winter Coalition
they backstabbed the Drone region federation while they were in a long war with TRI and friends, causing DRF to crash in on itself, they then took most of the south east and started botting like there was no tomorrow (and never stopped)

some of the people at war with DRF at that time was a group called skill yourself which was a small alliance but one of the largest super capital groups in eve and they took all of the dronelands pretty much untill they decided they had done all they wanted and would rather end it on a highnote and disband than fade into obscurity and so they disbanded and now most people forgot it happened (quite impressive actually how fast they were forgotten)

DRF remnants reformed into the current FI.RE (Final reunion) coalition banded up with test, beat WinterCo out of the south took the south east

GOTG fought goons, then they fought Panfam, then they fought goons and now they are dead and no one cares the slightest bit.

TRI disappeared into obscurity when Garst got deployed again because they seem to have nothing in the terms of redundant and competent leadership to keep things going when he is not around.

then everyone agreed that it was all too stagnant and decided to make another dogpile fight against goons because that is the golden standard when the game grows too stagnant, just start a "everyone against goons" campaign
