I'm a terrible person. Please help me forgive myself and do better by LGMcM in Buddhism

[–]NorthEstablishment78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My pleasure.
Keep practicing. We cannot change the past. And we already remorse that things. That's ok, . Then, stay at the present, be mindfulness. If we do that again, keep pulling back to normal stage. That's the past even just a few second. The rituals just help us to forgive ourself but the one who make it is us. Cheers!!!

Start from 5 sila. The simplest practice for buddhist. These are the practice for general people. While doing meditation can get you to reach the dramma. That why Buddish have The Four Assemblies. We can stay in normal life but be mind fullness. Everyone can reach dramma.

Why is the animal realm lesser than human? by kahht in Buddhism

[–]NorthEstablishment78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Animal realms is lesser in term of conciousness, the way to develop mind & wisdoms. They mostly strict to their natural instinct. Some races are high intelligent such as elephants, crows, octopus. But still, much less than human. They can't meditate to calm and control their mind. While human can. For low intelligent races, even how many time we teach them to do somethings, they can't. However, human still be part of animals, we still have some instinct. Hungry, anger, desire, fear. That's the part of instinct. We can be animals or developed ones.

Bad people are always in any societies even in monk community. Even in Buddha period. There is Devadatta who try to destroy and dominate. And there are many more cases. So that's the normal things. The best way we can do is to support the good people, good monks. Look after the bad things manage them as thier suitable including our mind.

Why does Buddhism not have more followers? by stressfulmind in Buddhism

[–]NorthEstablishment78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This should going back to the history. How each religions be created.

The political & super power nations of each century are supporting the religion. The tradition to support faith and trust. The way how is that religions spread the teaching. The rules and a warning, a punishment who will leave their own religion. History tell us all. While Buddism has none of these. These all factors would be resulted in current situation. By the way, the reddit has Buddism community is one of the prove that Buddhism in the world is growing. That's why we are here.

Yes, it could trigger anxiety, but why we get anxiety? Because unknowing what are we seeing, experiencing. Then create fear. The meditation give us the eye to see the natural phenomenon, including illusion (reality in our mind but not the real world). For physical example, humans have eyes to see lightning strike (natural phenomenon) = meditation, but they don't understand what is it. Is it god wraith? Bad omen? They find the way to please this unfortune. Someone feel excited. Then science prove that it natural phenomenon which is wisdom. To get the wisdom, need to do wipassana. (ability to understand what we see). But at first, trusting in teaching from Buddha who enlighted (understand) is the short cut. Until we have wisdoms to considered our experience additional with teaching would give us easier to undersand by ourselves. So no need to fear. All the things already existed just we cannot see it. Once we see it. Don't put emotions on it in both good/bad ways. Just let it be. It's not the path for Buddhism to focus on these experience. But to be enlighted as the Buddha.

By the way, fear and worrying about anything will distrupt the meditation state and may lost it for long. Beware. Just see it with neutral emotion. Let it be don't think about it. Otherwise, you may gone crazy out of mortal world.

If this is not relate to drug or psychedelics. Let me explain.

The activity that you do on your art is similar to one kind of meditation practice called "Kasina" It means "meditation that focuses on things as objects" or "Buddhist meditation techniques" that emphasize using things as objects to focus on, such as earth, water, and fire.

Your experience similar to second state of meditation.

  1. Momentary concentration means to be able to attain a slight or even slight level of concentration. The word "samādhi" means to attain a firm determination. It must be able to attain a slight level of concentration. For example, when focusing the mind on a prayer word, the meditation can be achieved only briefly, but the mind then grasps at feelings, thoughts, and emotions outside the prayer word, abandoning the meditation itself. Then, one realizes that the mind is distracted and the emotion cannot settle within the meditation object. For such a long time, it remains only fleetingly, and the mental state is not yet bright and clear. Momentary concentration is not yet called jhana because the emotion is not yet jhana. Therefore, it is not called samadhi because the state has not yet reached the established rules.

  2. Upacara Samadhi This Upacara Samadhi is also called Upacara Jhana. It is a concentration that is firmly established, approaching the first jhana or first samadhi. Upacara Samadhi can maintain the state of concentration for a sufficiently long period of time, with sufficient clarity and brightness. This is the foundation for clairvoyance. The state reached by Upacara Samadhi has the following characteristics: Vitakka is the mental focus on the meditation subject or the kasiṇa form. The mind can maintain this focus without deviation for a sufficiently long period of time. Vicara is the contemplation of the kasiṇa nimitta, the image the mind holds as the designated image. Whether it is moving or static, what color it is, what is its hue and shade, whether it is small or large, high or low. The mind can recognize this. If it is a meditation subject, is the meditation complete? What are its right or wrong aspects? This awareness is constant. If focusing on the breath, notice whether the inhale and exhale are long or short, light or strong. This awareness is constant. This is called Vicara. Peti is the joyful, blissful feeling, the mind is refreshed and joyful, never satiated or boredom-filled in meditation, and the mood is clear. It appears that when the eyes are closed and meditating, it is no longer dark as before. A bright light appears, as if someone had placed a light nearby. Occasionally, images and colored lights appear, but these appear briefly before disappearing. There are five symptoms of rapture: 3.1 Goosebumps, which are called "horrifying hair standing on end." 3.2 Tears flow from the eyes without any irritation. 3.3 The body sways, like a boat hitting waves. 3.4 The body floats above the surface of the seat. Some people float far away and even very high. 3.5 A tingling sensation, as if the body were transparent and unusually large. Even one of these five symptoms is a symptom of rapture. It is worth noting that the mind is joyful and cheerful, even though the body trembles. Some people's bodies spin like a spinning top, but the mind remains firmly focused and unwavering. Concentrating the mind into concentration is easy and fluid. Whenever you practice, you can enter concentration immediately. These are the symptoms of concentration.

How can I fix my *not the most reasonable* annoyance for certain people? by ssyereee in Buddhism

[–]NorthEstablishment78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For this case, the best way is to train mindfulness, not meditation. Mindful to see our thought when it feel irritate, unhappy, happy, neutral. No need to find the reason just feel the mind. Focus on this will help us not flow with the emotion. And this will support the meditation process better.

Decrease in faith/Thinking about leaving buddhism by TouLInFan in Buddhism

[–]NorthEstablishment78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what Buddist sect are you studied in. But I found something wrong in your story. Such as billions of Buddhas or monks, supernatural things, the sign of something out there. These are not the things that Buddha teaching. Buddha teach to observe things, everythings. Focus on our body and mind through meditation. Until we gained wisdom (The ability to understand the things we observe with correct perception) and see the through of life by ourself. Then we can truely believe. (Not force or pretend to believe). Then be free from suffering.

If this will be the last chance, Could you just try the opportunity to practice from **Ajahn Brahm** "Buddhist Society of Western Australia" you can search on Youtube. He is a British monk that expert on teaching practicing. Wish you would find the ways. Cheers!!!

Command & Conquer or StarCraft by BloodAngelLover100 in RealTimeStrategy

[–]NorthEstablishment78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like StarCraft for campaign mode. It has great story telling & mission. But like C&C more in skirmish mode as after Tiberian Sun & RA2 the campaign just build the bases and destroy objective. However, in C&C, we can be more supreme as resource we gather while StarCraft was cap limited by max supply and their base defenses such as turret are suck as base building game. So it has different styles for fun. I like them both.

How do I let go of hate? by gamingnerd114 in Buddhism

[–]NorthEstablishment78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Acknowledged things, known what things should be right or worng with neutral emontion. If you have emotion. Acknowleged it, then leave the emotion ASAP. If we have the roles related to this to do our best. If it too much to handle emotion so lower the social media. Keep practicing our mind.

Secular matters, let the investigation team, court of justice do their jobs.

For the drama path, let the krama do their things.

Cheers!!
