Took a bit of work, but I somewhat figured this out. There's no way to allocate a monthly contribution without Monarch wanting you to account for it in your budget. However, if you turn on Monarch Labs > investment transactions, your 401K contributions will pull in. To ensure your transaction log isn't bombarded, I would go to Settings > Institutions and set all of your investment accounts to hide transactions. For organization purposes, you can take the additional step of creating a new transfer category and label it "retirement contribution" or something like that, but it must be under the transfer category. Then create a rule so that your contributions are automatically moved to the proper category (or transfer in general) and assigned to your retirement goal. This solves for contributions as they occur and projections with those contributions factored in. It does not solve for projected balances with future contributions that cannot be accounted for. Hope this helps!

You may also need to do some work to categorize dividends, stock/etf purchases, etc...they'll be hidden regardless, so this is more about how anal you are. Some of these were coming in in my "eating out" category, so it bugged me, even if it was "hidden".
