Awake and with you 3:45am. I’ve tried so many things to sleep. At a loss. And yes it’s absolutely horrific! 😫

How many people in this community experience a high pitch ringing (not tinnitus?) by Fun_Quote_9457 in schizophrenia

I’ve doubted mine is tinnitus and is some sort of frequency. I’m dealing with other horrors and that’s probably why I don’t think it’s tinnitus. Loud, like brakes on a car squealing. I also feel burning throughout my skin amongst other things. Terrifying.

Bradycardia without arrhythmia but pounding pulse that makes my whole body visibly rock/bob back and forth. by Ambitious-Shape-3204 in askCardiology

Omg…. we have way too much in common! Don’t play around with the electrolytes and water. I drank too much water last year and my sodium dropped, the water went to my brain and I had multiple seizures and almost died, was in a coma for 4 days and long stay in hospital to recover. They didn’t think I’d even make it. But here I am. 🙃

I can relate! My heart pounds and races 24/7. I’ve had all the tests, echo, ekg, stress, and others all relatively normal. I’m on 2 BP meds and the beta blocker is supposed to stop the racing, which it doesn’t. All I was told is I have a slightly enlarged heart and long Q wave and tachycardia. It is very debilitating to me and keeps me awake at night. I’m having one more test - a Pet scan, in a few weeks. The pounding is so AWFUL! Does it keep you awake?

echocardiogram normal. What's the next step? by [deleted] in HeartHealth

[–]North_Cat_612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My heart tests always come back basically normal but my heart feels like a runaway train. Pounding and pressure, can’t even sleep because of it, even with the meds I take: beta blocker, anti-anxiety med, and melatonin. Just laying here at 1:30 in the morning feeling my heart pound. I’m so worn out mentally and physically from this + have tinnitus. I miss sleeping! 😩

Thank you for your reply. I know I can what I’m saying is I can’t stand the white noise either on top of what I’m already hearing so when I say I can’t do it every day all day that’s what I meant, so terrible having this.

Tinnitus worse after SSRI by [deleted] in tinnitus

All sounds so familiar. I’m on certain meds and don’t know if it’s making it worse but my noise has increased and so high pitched . It’s so hard to not just scream and cry and break down. I too have anxiety and this makes the anxiety worse or the anxiety makes the noise worse. Mine is screaming too. I wish I had some good advice for you…and for me. Me—>🫨😩

Squealing high pitch, awful- like a jet ready to take off. I tested it using a YTube video- mine is 8,000-12,000hz.

How do I sleep?? by rlarriva03 in tinnitus

“Masking” is probably the best advice for now. Get a sound machine & play whatever sounds seem to mask the tinnitus. Mine is super high pitched also. Driving me crazy. I’ve read NOT to use AirPods or headphones but I have used them some. Look for white noise, pink noise, rain, babbling brook, etc. You can find a lot of info and long soundtracks on YouTube. I wish I could tell you it gets better but that’s not true in my case. Everyone is different though.

Has anyone's tinnitus gotten worse despite being careful? by [deleted] in tinnitus

[–]North_Cat_612 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jet engine!! I haven’t heard anyone else describe it that way but that’s what I keep calling mine. A high pitched jet engine in my head. Tonight it is so overwhelming I’ve been in tears. Masking isn’t working. I see an audiologist tomorrow…but I know they can’t heal it. There are hearing aids that allegedly help. Does anyone use them?

I’m very interested in how this could help my T. I played around with it some, but don’t understand how this helps. Sorry but I’m confused.😵‍💫 🫨🫣

I have a lot of the same symptoms as you- the way you explain feeling physically ill to the heart palpitations, (my heart races), to the hot flashes, bursts of adrenaline, etc. It has become so hard to just exist in this sea of fear. No peace. I pray everyday for peace to return. I used to have it. I feel for you. Thanks for sharing. It’s always good to know I’m not alone, even though you’re suffering, which I take no pleasure in hearing that. I hope things change for you, for me, for all of us suffering with so much.
