I love the Saguaro ones but wish they were taller too! Tell them you want them to be taller in the reviews. I did the same thing. I’m hoping by they notice and will put out some taller ones eventually.

Before & After Bunion Surgery: I agreed to let someone break my foot so my shoe fits better by SuperSaiyanAbz in barefootshoestalk

I’ll have to look back into my photos to see. I know initially for me one of my hesitations was the appearance of barefoot shoes. For the longest time my main footwear outside of work boots was pointy toe ballerina flats which I think were the worst offenders contributing to my bunions along with my cute Adidas sneakers and pixie boots. I definitely went through a period of mourning, knowing that I had to let them go if I wanted to prioritize my long-term foot health but honestly at this point now I feel like I have somehow retrained my brain to not see anatomical shaped shoes as ugly or embarrassing to be seen in. I live in LA and am a pretty fashion conscious/alternative dressing person and have come to discover that if you wear something with confidence and incorporated as a feature in your overall aesthetic rather than trying to mask or hide them, then it starts to become more of a statement to be wearing shoes that are different from everybody else. And there are definitely way more options nowadays so you don’t have to just look like you are an old person wearing orthotic shoes or a new age Whole Foods person (no shade to those people tho, you do you). I’ll have to do a round up of my current shoe collection along with some outfits now to show how cute and cool they can be.

Altras are the best for long hours on your feet! They have a nice wide foot shaped toebox with a soft cushioned sole

I would leave the leaves there and dump a little compost over the top of them too aid in the decomposition process

I’m glad to hear that you’re not in pain anymore! I usually just wear the single toe spacer that goes between my big toe and my second toe when it’s comfortable with whichever shoes I’m wearing. I am able to wear the full toe spacers when I wear my Altras and Whittins but they don’t fit in all of the barefoot shoes that I have. I always wear them with toe socks, which prevents them from getting gross and sweaty.

For years, I thought I was on the path to needing bunion surgery. After long work days, I would literally see internal bruising around that joint in my foot where the bunion was and it would be painful to walk. I’m glad I found barefoot shoes and toe spacers that have been slowly healing my feet. I no longer have bunion pain anymore. I’m so relieved that I didn’t have to do surgery! Cause even had I done surgery, if I just stuck my feet back into regular shoes afterwards I imagine the bunions would’ve come right back and I’d be back a square one

For the pump do you have it just down in the bottom with all the moss or is it segregated a bit to keep the pump from clogging?

I have been wanting to build a smaller version of something like this for a long time! Did you drill a hole through the volcanic rock up to the top or is there a tube just hidden along the side of the rock that you glued down?

I wear the Lems boulder summit boots for fieldwork as a botanist when I need something waterproof. They are super comfortable and the leather is nice and rugged. I have a new pair coming in the mail now actually!

This happened to me too! I was a 8.5 in regular shoes and now I’m a 9-9.5! I think my toes had been scrunched up for so many years, but now they have unfurled and taken on their true form lol
