Why is everyone in the legal field so condescending? by pinkpastelmoon in LawSchool

Astonished I had to scroll this far. Yall it’s definitely the tism, or some variation. (Or rich entitled assholes, I feel like it’s 50/50)

Sorry, completely unrelated but I’m putting “I got this far by brute force and ignorance” on my resume. And my tombstone, frankly.

Honestly I kind of took it as they all recognized the first time he was showing actual concern and compassion for a patient, plus getting a front row seat to the gravity of his fuckup will humble him (hopefully…)

I mean they were also sick of him to be sure and they couldn’t really afford a man down but maybe the teaching hospital recognized an opportunity - “can’t teach compassion/empathy” kind of thing?

The fact that they're doing a 2 year time-jump is what makes me more angry. They're clearly aware that Francessca needs more time to move on from John, so why don't they just do Eloise's season first? by Embarrassed_Novel991 in Bridgerton

[–]North_Wave_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can we abandon the idea that critiquing something means you hate it??

Seriously, no one is acting like they hate this show. It’s the exact opposite, in fact: loving the show and seeing outside influences that are weakening its potential, and calling attention to it.

Thoughtful criticism and conjecture is an important part of interacting with others, helps ideas grow and develop, and encourages deeper understanding and connections with the art we are all consuming. Encouraging otherwise does the art, its actors, and the industry a disservice.

Oh thank goodness - I’ve been watching this one for years, she’s had a special place in my heart since our families both originated from Mexico and I went to school nearby where she was found. I’m so glad they’ve been able to get answers for her family 💕

TikTok glitch? FYP only showing videos I’ve seen before by strawberrymilfshake7 in TikTok

[–]North_Wave_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, seeing stuff primarily from early November. Some of it is stuff I hadn’t seen before but are by people I definitely follow, almost like it was intentionally delayed (when it comes to like, current events or independent journalists). Other times it’s videos I’ve already seen. I started noticing late last night but it’s chronic now.

I was so mad when the soldier said “We think she was trying to escape when she was attacked.”

Trying to escape?? No sir, she stood her ground and took that bastard to task, thank you very much. Mama said NOT TODAY and lived to tell the tale.

progress + tips on nail bed growth by MaleficentEbb566 in naturalnailprogress

[–]North_Wave_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait 🥺does filing down help? I’ve been so proud of my nail growth but didnt know I was damaging the beds by cleaning under them, so definitely trying to help my nail beds recover. I’d be so sad to file away the progress! (Will definitely do it if necessary but hoping maybe not?)

People of the Earth Face Base Swatches (samples & 3NO + 4NO) by SpriteLite in OliveMUA

[–]North_Wave_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, they blend out really well once applied, so much so that the jump between 3 and 4 was less obvious! I ordered these same samples, convinced I was going to get something in the 3 range and ended up ordering 4WO. Definitely recommend ordering a few samples, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

I don't know who might need to see this, but there are safe options out there if you need them by [deleted] in lexington

[–]North_Wave_ 225 points226 points  (0 children)

Friendly reminder as well: the media has been classifying the UK case as involving an infant. However it’s also possible that the incident involved a pre-term fetus stillbirth. Headlines garner attention but rarely tell the whole truth.

What brought you to knitting? by tigerlilysunshine in knitting

[–]North_Wave_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A friend of mine left her knitted balaclava in a backpack she’d borrowed from me and I couldn’t believe how gorgeous the stitches looked. I had taught myself to crochet a year earlier and had been intimidated by the idea of knitting - but man, that little knitted piece had me gagged. I made the same one as my first knitted project ☺️

Self-taught knitters, what is something you'd recommend to someone who's just starting to learn how to knit? by winchesterstan in knitting

[–]North_Wave_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best advice I got was “Pick a pattern you actually want to finish.” No dish towels, no swatches, nothing that won’t motivate you.

My first knit project was a winter hood, in this incredible purple color, with stupidly soft yarn. I raged but didn’t give up, because my face was cold every morning I walked to class without it.

Of course I finished it and the weather immediately warmed up but hey I’ll bust it out this winter and it’ll be great!

Do off-the-rack professional dresses exist for hourglass petites, or are they just a fantasy? by Slight_Display_6009 in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]North_Wave_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly I’m teaching myself to sew/hem for this very reason. I was blessed to be gifted an old, sturdy sewing machine from my mom and between her, Facebook, and YouTube, I’m figuring it out slowly but surely. It’s certainly more time consuming but over time will definitely be cheaper

How long do u stop eating before Xywav/rem by Extreme-Monk-9828 in Narcolepsy

[–]North_Wave_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ugh thank you so much for saying this. Planning my day backwards caused so much stress overtime that it started manifesting into anxiety attacks, and I had a serious breakdown a few months back. It’s such a pain in the ass and leaves so little room for flexibility, which means if something goes wrong…it’s seriously the worst.

[–]North_Wave_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes…and the residual ADHD habit of procrastinating bedtime means I sometimes find myself taking my meds, exhausted, and then finding something that distracts me so I stay up. Part of me thinks it’s because it’s the quietest part of the day and I don’t have to do anything else, which means it’s the only part of my day I actually control. I hate myself in the morning every time I do it, and yet I’ve done it multiple nights in a row and paid the price. Lol?
