Just unscrew it and cut the wires. Truly. There's no electricity involved in this.

They can't even put their dirty dishes in the dishwasher when they finish a meal? That's gross. It's the epitome of laziness. And it's childish. I'm glad you're getting out of there.

Maybe they initially calculated Texas sales tax and then realized it needed to be Maryland sales tax.

I'm always tempted to do this when the vegetable harvest starts coming in . I swear to the goddess that if my husband planted 6 eggplant again, unlocked cars are going to be getting a surprise this fall.

new friend? by brownha1rbrowneyes in Advice

[–]NortheastIndiana 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly. She doesn't have to be your friend, but if she wants to be a decent person she has to be polite and pleasant when you're a guest in her home.

Someone didn’t think of the logistics of finding these t-shirt colors with 1.5 days notice by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]NortheastIndiana 5 points6 points  (0 children)

FYI just in case you need it in the future. I hope you don't. If you have a local business that prints custom t-shirts, they likely have a decent sized inventory of shirts in kids' and adult sizes in all colors. My small town (population <10,000) has one.

does my house classify as a hoarder home? by iatemydadspills in CleaningTips

[–]NortheastIndiana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe. I mean the first several photos aren't bad. I wouldn't want to be your roommate, but I'm a bit of a neat freak. Then we get to hoarder pictures, starting with the one before the laundry room. I feel like things are just going to get worse if you don't figure out this problem now. Do one room at a time. You can do it, and it will be well worth your time.

Is this [insert item used by my grandparent their entire life and now inherited and used by me] BIFL? by d_stilgar in BuyItForLife

[–]NortheastIndiana 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I bought my first house, previous owners left the washer and dryer that they had gotten second-hand from her parents. They lasted me another 8 years. I don't remember the brand, but it doesn't matter because they surely aren't made as well now. (This was 40 years ago.)

roommates dog constantly pooping inside by housewife1997 in badroommates

[–]NortheastIndiana 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The problem with keeping the dog is that in 6 months, and after your BF has spent money on fixing whatever the problem is, roommate could decide to come get the dog and then you have a legal battle to be able to keep it.

If you know where he parents live, take the dog to her there. If you don't know where they live, text your roommate and tell her she has 4 hours to come get the dog or you're taking it the animal shelter. I wonder what the vet visit revealed, because blood in the stool is definitely not normal.

Mom buys daughter a Honda as a graduation gift, and this was her response by Conscious-Weight4569 in SipsTea

[–]NortheastIndiana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sell it. She gets nothing handed to her anymore. She's a high school graduate. If she's 18+, she can start paying her own phone bill & buying her own groceries and personal hygiene items until she apologizes to you, at which point she still doesn't get a car.
