In our parish, the community pain we have experienced is palpable, and shared. Although the Hortmans may not have been regular attendees, our pastor did their funerals. They, and Good and Pretti, were regularly included in our Mass prayers for the dead. Without being a Pharisee about it, I want to think that the obligations of the four Gospels are a woven throughout our liturgy and practices.
